Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) brought his trademark wit to Fox Business on Tuesday, offering his unique take on how the ongoing government shutdown led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is likely to end. Kennedy, who has a new book out titled How to Test for Stupid: And Why Washington Never Will , didn’t hold back when discussing the Schumer Shutdown with host Larry Kudlow.
“They want $1.5 trillion to open government back up, Larry,” Kennedy said, referring to Schumer’s demands. “And that’ll happen when donkeys fly backwards. We’re not gonna give in.”
Kennedy explained that the shutdown is purely political, not about policy. “Senator Schumer ... is trying to get the loon wing, the socialist wing of the Democratic Party… which is in control, to love him. And they will never love him. They won’t.”
He suggested that Schumer’s insistence on holding the government hostage is a strategic misstep. “He’d be better off doing what he did back in March and just calling it like he saw it and keeping government open. Because what he’s saying is, ‘We’re gonna keep government shut down until you, the Republicans and President Trump, give the Democrats $1.5 trillion, and they’re gonna tell us how to spend it.’”

Looking ahead, Kennedy predicted a quiet, behind-the-scenes resolution. “It will end eventually when Senator Schumer goes to six or eight of his members and his Democrats and says, ‘Do me a favor. Vote to open it back up. I may have to criticize you, I’m not gonna vote with you, but I need a way out of this. I need an offering.’ And that’s what’s gonna happen. But he’s gotta be careful because if it looks contrived… he’s boned. And he can’t look like he’s having a mutiny.

Here’s hoping that this attempted shakedown by the demoncRATS will come back and bite them hard on the behind. Putting criminals before the taxpayers is freakin’ unbelievable that the demoncRATS have unmitigated gall to attempt this atrociousness.

To paraphrase The Hollow Men (1925 poem by T.S. Eliot):
This is the way the shutdown ends
not with a bang but with a whimper
and maybe some passing gas by Schumer. 💨💨💨💨
“he’s boned.”
I haven’t seen that term in decades....
Laughing.
They should fire a million useless bureaucrats to make funds available.
"Saving face" isn't just for the Japanese anymore...
Schumer took the Democrats on a kamakaze mission and got banzaid by President Trump.

Since they are having trouble with this kind of aid going thru liberal federal agencies programs and grants...
I am not Japanese and I would not let Schumer save face. When Americans FA they FO and own it.
And the Dems that break ranks will be ones not up for re-election soon, and/or from super-safe districts.
Don’t always gave to agree with him, but he has a way of making one laugh about Congress
That’s how it works
He’ll tell those who are not running in the next election to vote to open it up...and we’ll give you a nice side job.
With USAID kickbacks ended. the Black Caucus and the Left are starving without their lobster bisque de la vin blanche,
and their condos in Beliz.
They dems are now suffering from a lack of illegal kick back money from their socialist elite Afro dictator friends, so they are shutting down the gub’mint.
SO MUCH WINNING.
I wish we had a couple dozen more Sen Kennedy’s in the Senate.
Who wants to save THAT UGLY FACE???
my pronouns in Sotho are O and eena…… baa, baa, baa.
🤔🤔, Pride Parade in Lesotho is $1,000 and $299,000 for the Democrats…. Oops, I mean NGO and then $289,000 for the Democrats.
There’s still plenty of time for the Republicans to concede. At least 4 of the longest shutdowns in the last 40 years were ended when the Rs caved. Rs are weak, not cohesive and very much the Uniparty.
Get with the Senators of the states Trump removed funding for (ie: NYC $18.1 billion for construction projects) and let them know that their vote will get the withholding of funds lifted.
That should end this.
