The terror group’s sudden openness to Trump’s peace plan is the product of his decision to flip the diplomatic script: advancing peace by negotiating with Israel’s Arab neighbors.
The Middle East could be on the verge of a major turning point. On Friday, Hamas signaled openness to Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. On Monday, mediators will convene in Egypt to facilitate indirect peace talks between Hamas and Israel. On the table: the possible release of all remaining Israeli hostages, the transfer of control over Gaza away from Hamas, and a permanent ceasefire. But Hamas’s conditions for agreement remain unclear. And Israel, despite demands from Trump on Friday to “immediately stop the bombing,” has continued its air strikes on Gaza.
How did we get here? According to Peter Berkowitz, the answer is Trump’s long-standing policy of advancing Israeli-Palestinian peace by strengthening ties with Israel’s Arab neighbors. But getting Hamas to the table was only the first step. What will happen next? Could the war really be about to end? That’s the question Elliott Abrams addresses in his piece for The Free Press, published just after Hamas issued its response to Trump. —The Editors
On Friday, President Donald Trump gave Hamas a Sunday deadline to respond to his peace proposal to end the Gaza war. Hours later, the Iran-backed terrorist group replied, agreeing to release all the hostages and enter into negotiations for a permanent ceasefire. At the same time, Hamas stated that hostages will be released only “with the provision of the field conditions necessary for the exchange process.”

I think El Prez is being a little naive, here - and has forgotten (or is ignoring) the lessons of history.
sorry to say that PDJT has not brought the Fakestinians to the peace table
he’s just let them string him along, forget about his ‘red line ultimatims’... and thusly..... the Fakestinians play President Trump like a trumpet
I admire President Trump but for such a skilled negotiator he’s being played for a fool
Hamas is mocking Trump. Trump protected Khomeini, al-Sharaa, Qataris, so why wouldn’t he protect Hamas?

...The Hamas terrorist organization opposes one of the key provisions in Trump’s plan, which requires them to release all 48 hostages—both the living and the deceased—within 72 hours, while the IDF would withdraw to the “yellow line.”
This afternoon, a senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera that the group had demanded that the stages of releasing the hostages be linked to the stages of the complete withdrawal of forces. They said that the release of the last hostage “must occur simultaneously with the final withdrawal of Israeli forces”. The Hamas delegation emphasizes the need for international guarantees for a “permanent ceasefire and full withdrawal.”...
LOL! Were the hostages released Sunday at 6pm?
Hamas shouldn’t even be a part of the negotiations. They should all be dead already.
