Andrew Cuomo raises $400K in just 2 days following Eric Adams dropping out of NYC mayoral race

He’s raking in some ‘Cuo’ hard cash.

Andrew Cuomo’s bid to topple mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani gained some steam this week – as the former governor raised an eye-whopping $400,000 in donations following Eric Adams’ exit from the race.

The six-figure haul came in just under two days following Hizzoner’s announcement that he was dropping his long-shot independent re-election bid on Sunday, according to a campaign source.

The loot was just shy of the $421,000 Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa raised over the entire Aug. 19 to Sept. 29 filing deadline.

“Voters are just now tuning into this race, and they want a safe city they can afford to live in, and they know Andrew Cuomo has the experience to deliver and the ability to hit the ground running on Day One,” Cuomo for NYC Chairman Bill Bulrow said in a statement.

Cuomo, who is running as an independent in the November race, raised $940,000 in total over the filing period, with $334,000 eligible for public matching funds.

All of Sliwa’s $421,000 will qualify for matching funds, while Democratic nominee Mamdani has already maxed out his donations.

Mamdani brushed off Cuomo’s haul at an unrelated press conference Friday.

“I can just tell you that, thanks to the support of everyday New Yorkers, we don’t have to worry about fundraising in this race,” Mamdani said, before boasting about his campaign’s average donation of $25 per contributor.

“And while Andrew Cuomo will continue to have to call donors, I look forward to actually speaking to New Yorkers themselves.”

Cuomo’s most recent haul had an average donation of $328, while Sliwa has an average contribution of $118.

The contribution limit for individuals in city mayoral races is $2,100, according to campaign finance rules.

All three candidates have recently shelled out over $600,000...

Some sort of satire will be on the front page of the NY Post.
Maybe a beret left behind.

If Hitler and Stalin were on a ballot, Freepers would proudly say that they would vote for the lesser of two evils.

So that the human-cockroach can save NYC from the Communist?

This sounds like the plan to me.

God have mercy on the predicament. It’s a shame RNC have totally dropped the ball.

Heaven help us when Andrew Cuomo is the answer to NYC’s ills because he’s responsible for most of them

Let’s skip all this crap. Have Eric or Don Jr. move into Trump tower and run for Mayor. 😁

If I were a New Yorker and Sliwa dropped out, I’d go fishing instead of voting on Election Day.

Was going to post it’s a shame either of them (Trump brothers) aren’t running…

but sigh, in current NYC climate they likely wouldn’t win. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Maybe Barron Trump will…one day…if there is still an NYC/USA still standing. 🗽

Maybe Curtis cannot promise to make the lives of New Yorkers better, but he might be able to promise not to make their lives worse.
