The Brief Students say Northwestern University has blocked enrollment this quarter for some students who have refused antisemitism training. The students argued the training videos were biased in favor of Israel over Palestinians and made claims without citing sources. Northwestern University stated all students are required to complete annual training on discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, warning that failure to do so can result in registration holds, though students only need to attest to following university policies—not agree with the training content. EVANSTON, Ill. - Some Northwestern University students were not allowed to enroll for classes in the fall quarter for refusing or challenging training meant to combat antisemitism that they claimed was "offensive" and "unscholarly."
In an open letter to university administrators, more than 200 current students and graduate workers, alumni, staff, faculty, and parents, claimed that training videos on antisemitism and "anti-Muslim, anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian biases" would actually reinforce discriminatory bias.
The university's administration said the students received reminders of the required training for several months before their registration was withheld.

The videos gave unequal attention to the histories of Israel and Palestine and the losses of life among Israelis and Palestinians. Specifically, they claimed the videos discuss the Hamas-led attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, in which more than 1,200 people were killed, but "does not mention the ongoing genocide in Gaza." More than 65,000 people have been killed in Gaza during the ongoing war. The students said the videos provide "inaccurate historical information that erases the pain, suffering, and existence of the Palestinian people."

If I were a university student today, I might be one of them ... I'm tired of "sensitivity training" regardless of the specifics ...
I can guarantee they will also be forced to take classes criticizing “whiteness”, heterosexual males and Christianity, etc...

Forced to take some classes prohibiting criticism of one group and then forced to take other classes requiring criticism of other groups.
I wish my country cared for me as much as it does Israel.
As a private institution, they can require whatever they like. Everyone is free to go there, or not go there.

Yes, the same fatigue that posters around here are referring to “black fatigue” but its not just blacks.
People, especially young males, are fed up being force fed a constant diet of BS about how every minority is picked on and better than them yet they are enslaved into financially supporting and dying to protect their “betters”.

There’s a seriously dangerous problem on several university campuses and antisemitism is a common factor, as is anti- church bias. If somebody is so prejudiced as to refuse to even consider the history and legitimate rights of Jewish and Christian people — they don’t belong anywhere near our colleges. Especially when it is expressed as bias for terrorist gangs and their enablers.
I can certainly emphasize with the parents of these young misguided scum-in- the- making. “We worked hard for years to support and get you to the admissions office and you’re throwing your future away for some false propaganda you’ve heard about matters you’ve obviously never learned much about?! What other big lies will you accept, believe, follow, obey?! Grow up and start patterning your life on positive, true facts, knowledge, and some moral values— even if you have to work hard to learn, discover it. Indeed, we all need to do these things in our lives. It’s part and parcel of our success as human brings …”

What's quite telling is that neither side seems to give a damn that the most common form of bigotry peddled on college campuses isn't directed towards blacks or towards Jews, but towards white males. Pretty much every social sciences and humanities course on elite college campuses drives home the point that white males are the source of all evil in the world and that everyone else is their victim. While that's happening, it's rather silly to get worked up about campus crusades against Israel or anything else.
