Trivia/humanities:
That Tom Jones tune- (love Tom Jones)
“I’ll Never Fall in Love Again” is a popular song by composer Burt Bacharach and lyricist Hal David that was written for the 1968 musical Promises, Promises.

Day After Day--Shango (1969)
Day after day, more people move to LA.
Shhhh! Don't you tell anybody the whole place is shaking away.
Where can we go when there's no San Francisco?
Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho.

This got a lot of airplay on KEZY, Orange County, Calif.'s Top 40 blaster, in the summer of 1969, so I thought it was a big hit, but it was only a local smash that only reached #47 nationally.

Oh. I know!
The kids here love ‘the Blob”. Love Steve McQueen. They were the ones who told me he did the theme
Bachrach co owned a restaurant in Oyster Bay on 25A ( main road from manhattan to the North Fork. My parents would occasionally have a Bachrach sighting. Nice man

This tune from the summer of 1968, which calls or the violent overthrow of the US government, is a far, far cry from the group's feel-good hits of the mid-sixties.
