An inmate who has pleaded guilty to murdering Robert Pickton in prison last year says he did it for the serial killer's victims.
Martin Charest admitted on Thursday morning to fatally assaulting Pickton with a broken broom handle at the Port-Cartier federal penitentiary in May 2024.
Charest pleaded guilty to first-degree murder during a court appearance in Sept-Îles, Que., northeast of Quebec City.
Pickton was convicted in 2007 of six counts of second-degree murder, but confessed to killing a total of 49 women whom he lured to his pig farm near Vancouver.
A statement of facts read out in court detailed how Charest locked himself into a room with Pickton and assaulted him twice while guards were unable to enter.
Charest told the judge he murdered Pickton after the serial killer had continued to brag about the murders and told other inmates he'd commit more crimes if he was ever released.
This Pickton was a real piece of work... Murdering hookers and runaways and then feeding them to his pigs... Needless to say... There wasn't much DNA leftover to shift through.
He did it because he was ordered to do it. That’s how it works in prison.
Or there was a familial payoff..................

Does Charest now get time off for good behavior?
Give him a couple of weeks added to his original sentence.
I think I remember reading about this. Wasn’t Pickton coming due for Day Parole? I think he was. I recall reading that he has a younger brother, who very likely helped Robert dispose of the many victims, but all along the brother said
he ‘didn’t know anything about all of that”. His Brother still walks free.
The dude wasn’t much of a looker... So... Money... Drugs... Booze and combinations there of. Desperation is a nasty condition.
How sad when justice can only be done by other criminals.

Probably killed 49 women as he told some he got sloppy as he was exited to get to 50.
On a side note the left-tard Canuck government will give him possible parole in 25 years if he were to live that long. That’s the MAX sentence they can give for any crime; Life in prison, parole possibility in 25 years.
No impact on Charest sentence would be justice. In certain states juries would do nullification justice
