Sal Iacono, Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin and a long-time writer and performer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” suggested Sunday that the show may not be coming back on the air after ABC indefinitely suspended the program last week.
On an episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast” late Sunday night, Iacono said he was reluctant to talk about the future of the show out of respect for the staff whose jobs are on the line. But he said significant news could come out this week, and he believed Kimmel will land on his feet no matter what the outcome is.
“I wish I could say anything. There are a couple bombshells still there,” Iacono said. “I’m feeling good. We’re going to be all right. Everything’s going to be just fine.”
Bill Simmons, who worked as a writer on the show two decades ago, agreed that Kimmel would find a platform if the show ended.
“He’ll be fine, whatever he wants to do,” Simmons said. “Hey listen, he might just want to be a pop-up chef and start making barbecue around the South Bay area. He’ll do a great job.”
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was abruptly and indefinitely taken off the air on Wednesday last week after Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr and networks of affiliate stations threatened ABC over comments Kimmel made in a monologue about the MAGA movement’s response to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. The show’s staff will continue to be paid for the time being, as discussions continue between Kimmel and executives at Disney, ABC’s parent company, over the show’s future.

MSNBC will probably want to hire him.
He’s done
You know who else is not coming back? Charlie Kirk.
Disney is sending out the talking point that ABC has lost billions sent they pulled the plug. This is prep for his return. Never mind the fact that the Family Feud reruns got 200% more viewers in the key demo in his time slot.
At least Kimmel’s wife doesn’t have to try to explain to a 2 year old and 4 year old child where daddy is.
Sounds like they’re prepping this for a “triumphant return” in which ABC says that the groundswell of support that Kimmel received made them realize how awesome he is.
The best thing for us to do is shrug and say, “Who cares?”
Family Feud reruns are a million times more entertaining than that sad sack. I love watching those with my mom when I visit her once a year.
Nexstar, Sinclair, and all the other local affiliates hold the cards.
It was the Nexstar card that put Jimmy out on the street.
Disney is playing the PR game.
That is what media conglomerates do.
They want to pretend that they did not fold on Jimmy when they did because they had NO choice.
They are going to frame this as a Trump decision and a violation of free speech neither of which is true.
The local affiliates finally used their leverage because there was a FCC Chair in place who gave them the go-ahead to use their leverage.
Jimmy has NO path to return without going through Nexstar and the locals.
And that is a major, major BLOCKADE.
this two minute clip of narrated dogs is funnier than kimmel.

I always thought his halloween candy prank was kind of mean
You or someone else are now just making stuff up
Over the 12 months that ended in June, Disney posted a profit of $11.55 billion on revenue of $94.54 billion.

If they had really lost $2 billion (2 being the minimum for billions) in one week, they would have filed an 8K material event with the SEC
Billions is a fairy tale
There ya go. That's the spirit. It's not as if was shot in the neck.
He is an incredible vaccine salesman. Someone will pick him up and pay him handsomely.
30 years ago, Kimmel was a funny guy.
It’s possible he could start being funny again. But he needs to do something about his anger first. That is going to take a while.
“cousin hints” ... “sources say” ... it’s all Sturm und Drang: Kimmel is toxic with advertisers, end of story, The End ...
I don’t know how many millions Kimmel was getting paid.
Obviously, the show was not making money.
Disney took the opportunity to cut their losses.
As a side note this morning in my office there was the typical discussion of what new TV shows had been watched and recommended. They mentioned Tulsa King and a few others. NOT ONE of these shows was on regular TV.
I realize Tulsa King is a Paramount show. As is Landman. The only reason anyone watches network TV anymore is for sports and local news. I got rid of cable TV two years ago. Everything is streaming now. We watch YouTube, Prime, Rumble and Netflix probably 90% of the time.
Especially those episodes where Steve Harvey crowns the losing team

Him and Colbert could do a Dance team bit...........
Well Disney removed the cancer locally when they excised Kimmel. Now they need to go in again and excise the entire cancerous mass, ABC, from their bottom line
From Grok
“Long-term: ABC’s broadcast network has struggled in the streaming era. Traditional TV ratings and ad revenue have declined, and Disney has even explored selling ABC in recent years.”
Paging Elon Musk........Pick up on line 1..............
