French towns fly Palestinian flag despite government orders ahead of state recognition

Some French mayors have defied government orders and flown Palestinian flags on town halls, with more expected to follow suit as France prepares to formally recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly.

It’s unclear how many cities will join the initiative on Monday after Socialist leader Olivier Faure’s call to fly the flags despite warnings from the Interior Ministry against such displays in a country with both Europe’s largest Jewish and Muslim populations. But the call has been gaining momentum as Palestinian flags have been more and more visible in France over the nearly two-year war in Gaza.

Palestinian banners were on display in demonstrations this week during a big day of protests across the country that criticized several polices by French President Emmanuel Macron and his government.

The Palestinian flag has been flying at the town hall of Malakoff, a suburb of Paris, since Friday. The city mayor, Jacqueline Belhomme, told The Associated Press on Sunday she was ordered to take it down but refused to comply. “We stand with the Palestinian people; it is something symbolically important, just as we did some time ago with the Ukrainian flag when we stood with the Ukrainian people who were under attack by Russia.”

In southwestern France, the communist mayor of Mauléon-Licharre, a town of 3,000 residents, raised a Palestinian flag on Friday but removed it the next day after the case was referred to an administrative court.

“The flag is now in my office. This is an attack on my freedom of thought,” mayor Louis Labadot told local radio station Ici Pays Basque.

The war in Gaza and the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict are expected to be at the top of the agenda of world leaders at their annual gathering at the U.N. General Assembly starting Monday.

So are the French and the British going to send troops to support Hamas against Israel? Hopefully this nonsense will enlighten more people that our elected officials are not representative of the people, they are the enemies of the people.

So where exactly is this Palestine of which they speak? Maybe it’ll be somewhere in southern France? Or near Cornwall in the UK?

The French have comitted cultural suicide. Not surprising given the fact that between 1800-1945 France lost forever its genetic best. The France that most Americans envision, no longer exists.

France was never deNazified (not even an effort as with Germany). That was as a favor to DeGaulle. But alas, much of France was overtly Nazi and even helped the occupation German Nazi forces round up Jews to be slaughtered.

We greatly respect and appreciate the good French people who are not antisemitic. But given the evil machinations of the French government (and conditions on the ground in France) today, I’d suggest all French Jews make aliya (move up to Israel) — where they can at least defend themselves — ASAP.

It is sad that some changes are, in effect, coerced in history. Many, most French Jews are very (!) loyal to France and would wish to stay if conditions were even half-way conducive, safe there. But, well, France isn’t the only western nation which is headed in this downwards spiral. We will see...

Those towns should unite and become the new Palestinian state.

Palestine is right next door to Wakanda. Both are fictional.

The France that most Americans envision, no longer exists.

Right now France is a mixture of France and its former colonies.

We all have that image of France, especially Paris and we think that it is such a picturesque city but it does not look like we see in the movies.

Now everyone knows where Philistia is located. The real question is "Where is France ?"

France is probably to late to save.

You don’t need a majority.

Even at 12%, which is where France is today, this demographic will heavily influence social policy, law enforcement, foreign affairs.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_France

A highly organized and homogeneous, vocal and even to the point of violent, group like the Muslims in France are already shaping France’s government in every imaginable way. You better believe that Macron considers what will happen on the streets of Paris with every decision he makes which impacts Muslims.

Why do you think they shut down major roads in their prayers in the capital?

https://www.https://www.timesofisrael.com/tensions-as-paris-suburb-tries-to-stop-muslim-street-prayers/

Why not in a park? Or imagine this, in a Mosque? They are telling folks they have “power,” and how does Paris react? They ban all public prayer. Hahaha

France really is weak. They avoid the confrontation, they implement dim witted solutions that are intended not to infuriate a this demographic. They don’t have the balls to do this: https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/abbott-signs-bill-aimed-at-blocking-epic-city-project-in-collin-county/3917877/ or this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fox4news.com/news/abbott-visits-collin-county-sign-bill-banning-sharia-law-compounds.amp

Paris tap dances around the issue while it gets worse and worse year after year because of DEMOGRAPHICS.

May they rot in Hell. We spent treasure and blood saving them from the Nazis and keeping the commies at bay. They can suck Mohammed’s sword for all I care.
