The Taliban reject Trump’s bid to retake Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan

The Taliban government on Sunday rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s bid to retake Bagram Air Base, four years after America’s chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan left the sprawling military facility in the Taliban hands.

The chief Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, rejected Trump’s assertions and urged the U.S. to adopt a policy of “realism and rationality.” Afghanistan had an economy-oriented foreign policy and sought constructive relations with all states on the basis of mutual and shared interests, Mujahid posted on X.

It had been consistently communicated to the U.S. in all bilateral negotiations that Afghanistan’s independence and territorial integrity were of the utmost importance, he said.

“It should be recalled that, under the Doha Agreement, the United States pledged that ‘it will not use or threaten force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Afghanistan, nor interfere in its internal affairs,’” he said. The U.S. needed to remain faithful to its commitments, he added.

Y’all have to wonder why an Airbase they can’t use is such a problem. We are just asking for the Base, not anything else.
Lots of jobs for locals, Having lived on Air force bases from North Dakota to Guam, and more I know you really don’t NEED to leave the base.
So the precious Moslem BS won’t be compromised.

Taliban are just proving to be the idiots we all know them to be.

Why would we even want it?
I’d hate to be stationed there - go off base, get your throat cut. Stay on base, get blue-on-blue bombed.
The locals would hate us due to Biden’s incompetent exit and our not supporting them.
I don’t see it.

Correcting four years of anti-American decisions by the Biden regime is a hard slog.

Willingly giving up the largest air base in Central Asia, (close to both Red China and Iran) is more than incompetent, it's criminal.

A little off topic but Russian bloggers are disputing Trump's claim of who built Bagram.

The base is very close to the Chinese border. Wouldn’t surprise me if China has the base and is making it look like the tallybahn owns it.

Biden left us with another huge mess to unscrew.

Not sure what President Trump is hoping to accomplish here. He’s the one who signed the agreement for the U.S. military to vacate Afghanistan in the first place.

Let’s just send the B-2’s to flatten the joint like we did to the muzzie’s nuclear program in Iran.

We can always do to Bagram what the DemonRAT Party did to Tesla. Burn the joint to the ground.

If the Russki built the joint, that’s all the more reason to level the joint to the ground.

How many thousand USAF airmen would be required to operate the base and how many US Army troops to defend it? Bagram is 800 miles from the ocean. All supplied by air. This is a zany idea.
