Late-night TV is well and truly dead — at the hands of the hosts themselves.
Their weapon? Their own blind rage at half the country.
Hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert have deluded themselves into thinking that their mandate is to save democracy with one-sided political rants, rather than serving up breezy topical humor to send Americans to their nightly slumber.
On Wednesday night, Kimmel was put on ice by ABC. Local affiliates had said they wouldn’t air “Jimmy Kimmel! Live” because of his vile monologue suggesting Charlie Kirk’s killer was a MAGA true believer.
We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel had said on-air Monday.
But it was his grotesque commentary that was hitting a new low.

I’m sick of the “half the country” talk. These crazy leftists are no where near half.
Stevie needs to ask little Jimmy if he wants to share his Emmy. They can take turns displaying it for their friends.
Colbert and Kimmel are NOT comedians, they are ACTIVISTS, if you want to know who was funny it was Leno, it was Carson, heck at one time it was Letterman..I remember Leno used to go after BOTH sides, and it was hilarious..Im fine with comedians poking jokes at politicians, heck on Fox News Gutfeld and Failla make jokes against Trump all the time and its FUNNY..Colbert and Kimmel were NEVER comedians, just trained seals for the left doing their bidding..that is why Kimmel felt the need to go on air on Monday night to be the left’s spokespeople and pretend the shooter was not a leftist, instead he was maga, they want to wash their hands of the shooter instead of owning up to the fact that their disgusting rhetoric caused him to do what he did
The life is sorting out the lifeboat seats and you see the no talent hasbeens aren’t making the cut.
The author must be living in a bubble. Gutfeld is still #1 on late night TV.
Jimmy can always fill in on The View. He can start each show with a “What’s In My Pants?” challenge.
The Sinclair TV stations wanted Kimmel out. They are the ones who own the FCC license.
These are local tv stations that rely upon advertising from the local businesses in their broadcast area.
The local stations do not want to upset their local advertisers by having a degenerate like Kimmel being aired to their customers.
“These crazy leftists are no where near half.”
There’s a lot of them. No GOP presidential candidate has hit 50% in 20 years.
And, based on current events, I would say the other team is much more committed and much more fanatical.
Johnny Carson did it right. He ran a light-night talk show for 30 years. And you were never quite sure of where he stood politically.
👍
On the other hand, the current crop of hosts (Kimmel, Colbert, etc.) will let you know how leftist they are, and in the first five minutes.
Shameless, filthy propagandists all.
What’s really delicious about the Kimmel thing is, he sees himself as the new Johnny Carson or Jay Leno - the “King of TV”. When we all know TV is dying and unless the Mouse is extra stupid (not at all unlikely) he will never return to the broadcast TV networks. And his personality is so small and petty he’d never make it online via podcast. He will just shrivel up and turn into a bitter old man who will forever be convinced he got screwed by MAGA. Very satisfying.

🚨 BEAUTIFUL: A patriot brought blueberries to a Charlie Kirk vigil - after Erika Kirk recalled explaining to their 3-year-old daughter, “He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.”

Colbert’s show cost $100 million a season. Podcasters and YouTubers are doing practically the same thing for pennies and reaching far larger audiences.
“””Johnny Carson did it right. He ran a light-night talk show for 30 years. And you were never quite sure of where he stood politically.”””””””””
And you never knew who his guests might be. Maybe a singer, actor, farmer, a guy who makes fart noises with his hands.....
It was always light hearted and entertaining. He would make jokes about Gerald ford stumbling or Carter doing something. But never anything serious.

Kimmel abused and humiliated women with that recurring bit. It was disgraceful. Yet feminists raised no objections. I wonder why.
Oh, now I think I get it. Kimmel is far-left. And most feminists are far-left. So just leave Kimmel be. Professional courtesy.
Semi-true.
Sinclair owns 38 ABC stations, Nexstar Media has 28, and there are 8 stations owned by Disney (ABC) itself. That’s a total of 74, all of whom must meet the FCC regulations which include operating in the public interest. Brendan Carr wields a big hammer!
Kimmel thinks he can get out of his contract and take his show to a cable network or online where he’s no doubt convinced himself there is tremendous adoration and demand.
But in reality, I think we will see that the licensees feel otherwise, and that he alienates the vast majority of their audience for the sake of catering to a very small vocal minority of leftists.
Gutfeld! is a different kind off show. But it’s the only late-night thing I watch.
I liked Carson and Leno, and even Letterman before he morphed into a nasty, bitter old man. But all these younger guys just stopped being funny, if they ever were to start.
Leftists cannot stand to have facts challenge their worldview. They have their entire ego tied up in their fantasy universe, and with facts and logic applied as Charlie Kirk did so well they either face the destruction of their egos or they get the urge to kill the source.
Late night used to be class acts. Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno…
Now it’s the most classless people imaginable.
Last night Kimmel was replaced by reruns of Celebrity Family Feud.
The only thing worth watching on TV after 10:00 p.m. is the test pattern with the real Indian on it.
