I’ve seen a lot of these social media posts and it strikes me that most of them are younger women. Young liberal women are the ones literally laughing and saying things like “I hope he suffered.” It such a contrast from how mild-mannered they look.

To be fair, there are steps a public school has to take before they can fire a teacher, especially if the teacher has tenure. Putting them on leave gets them out of the classroom while the termination process develops. Of course it can be used to ‘wait until all this blows over’, but I get the feeling that this isn’t going to blow over.
