Many people attacked a grieving widow last night as she publicly addressed the nation.
Erika Kirk mourned her late husband Charlie Kirk, who an extremist shot and killed on Wednesday with a bolt-action rifle from about 200 yards away on a college campus in Utah. The father turned in the 22-year-old to the police. If convicted, the shooter might face the death penalty.
Tim Shorrock, who covers Korea for The Nation, a progressive monthly magazine, posted:
"The evil doers have no idea what they've done." Charlie Kirk is apparently Jesus 2.0 and is "sitting next to his savior." A new religion is being born. What it is ain't exactly clear. pic.twitter.com/zE9gDEYyMV — Tim Shorrock (@TimothyS) September 13, 2025
Shorrock attacked the widow five days after an extremist murdered her husband. And he's not the only one. Hundreds of people have reportedly been fired from their jobs for insensitive social media posts about Kirk, Townhall has reported.
Robby Starbuck posted about Shhen Barnes, an apparent board member at the Toledo Public Schools. Barnes posted: "Ya'll love Handmaid's Tale, but missed the point. The wives weren't victims, they were gatekeepers. They fueled the abuse. They held the system together. Never forget that. ljs"
Meet Sheena Barnes @Barnes4Equity. She’s a they/them board member @TPSProud and she’s comparing Erika Kirk to the Handmaid’s Tale and joking about Charlie’s death. This is out of line for someone in public education. Email Toledo Public School Board President: bvasquez@tps.org pic.twitter.com/7fcLsRSXY7 — Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) September 14, 2025
Kirk's assassination has brought out the best and worst part of humanity, golfer Phil Mickelson posted.
"The assassination of Charlie Kirk is bringing out some of the best in humanity and it’s also exposing some of the worst. The unification, love, support, and outcry on his behalf throughout the world is heartwarming. The number of people supporting Tyler Robinson’s appalling behavior has opened my eyes to a side of extremism with a moral superiority complex that has also shaken my belief in people in general. I hope they are held accountable for their disgusting rhetoric.

Cartoonist Scott Adams posted that many people who dislike Charlie based on lied and quotes taken out of context.
Wait until the haters of Charlie Kirk find out their anger is based entirely on quotes taken out of context and flat-out lies about what he said.

The nation is still mourning Kirk as many gather in Washington D.C. this afternoon, Townhall reporter Sarah Arnold reports.

They slander and also “respond” to things that were never said in order to put the right on the defensive for things that never occurred.
Which shows how depraved the left truly is.
“ following Erika Kirk’s emotional speech on Friday night—delivered just days after losing her husband—the movement exploded, not despite tragedy, but because of it.”
Aye, and alas.
We must cease to be punching bags for liars, deviants, and other miscreants.
Erika is a paradigm of true feminine fortitude.
I had a discussion with one such person. He said Charlie Kirk wanted to stone gay people.
I tried to point out that there have been no mobs stoning gays roaming around the country.
But such a fact did not matter to him. He just parroted back the line that’s going around that Charlie wanted to stone gays.
S/he should take a six month vacation to the Saudis...or Iran.
I've noticed that in my own (retirement-age) sibs: When I attempt to persuade them with Aristotelian logic and facts, their "go-to" response is to entirely side-step the actual issue at hand by resorting to Bulverisms, with a dash of shaming.
They never address the actual issue!
Regards,

It won’t make any difference to most of them.
Amen. These people need to be born again, and I’m sure some of them will be.
This from the same group of leftist sickos that turned convicted felon and drug addict, George Floyd, into the equivalent of a Saint?
He’s just another lost soul in this world. It’s sad, really; he has no idea what he must account for nor to Whom. So many lost; so many willfully astray. Jesus loves every last one of them desperately; they mock His name, too.
This whole situation breaks my heart as much as it angers me. So many lost souls…
Well, they'll stone you when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're trying to go home
And they'll stone you when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned.

As a girl, yes I agree. She has a lot of education, poise, fortitude.
She is a 21st Century Amazon!
The offspring of missionaries? Ugh, noooooooo.
Welp, I guess he is one of the “willfully astray” that I mentioned. It is such a shame…but he has made an informed choice for himself; he will have no excuse when his day comes.
I hope he gets his act together long before then.
No surprise coming from The Nation, and especially no surprise coming from Tim Shorrock. He was a few years ahead of me in school, and in the mid-60s was anti-Vietnam, anti-military and claimed Hiroshima & Nagasaki were completely unneeded & were known to be so by the Truman White House, thus making them premeditated, unprovoked murder.
And he was a chip off the old block - his father Hal Shorrock was one of the furthest-left of the ex-pat community back then. Worse yet, he was a professor, and thus in charge of molding obedient little zombie-bot leftwing lemmings. No doubt his charges are today in ivory towers all over the map, continuing to propogate his "legacy".
