As educators and public servants, we believe symbolic acts such as lowering the flag should reflect the principles we work to instill in our students and community. When a person has made public statements that conflict with the values of inclusivity, respect, and student safety that we as a District strive to uphold, we may choose to not fly the flag at half-staff.

Our decision reflects both our compliance with Washington State law and our unwavering commitment to ethical leadership and educational equity.

We lived in unincorporated Kent for 6 years in the late 80's to 95. The kids started in the Kent school district, for one semester. Many of the schools had signs out front talking about various awards they had won for school excellence.

One semester was too much. We pulled them out and sent the kids to private schools for the duration, until we moved to another state. From what we saw, the school system in Kent was better at filling out paperwork to win awards than actually educating the students.

Looks like things have not changed since then.

I began to detest the word “inclusive” when the feminazi started rewriting scripture and hymns with “inclusive language”.
