Checked out: Biden staff scrambled to make thousands of pardons look presidential

New documents show that President Biden was checked out of decisions on pardoning felons and commuting the sentences of death-row inmates while his aides worked to make him look involved on paper.

The National Archives and Records Administration handed over Biden administration memos detailing steps taken to create a record that would make Mr. Biden look like the decision-maker for the thousands of pardons signed by autopen during his final days in office.

“Internal emails reveal Biden didn’t review thousands of pardons granted in his final days and even his own White House lawyers were scrambling for proof he approved them,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee aides posted on social media.

Other newly leaked documents show the National Archives searched its records on the administration’s commutation of nearly every federal death sentence but could “not find a version indicating President Biden’s approval.”

The records were leaked to several news outlets amid a Trump administration probe into Mr. Biden’s historically heavy use of the autopen.

Mike Howell, executive director of the watchdog group Oversight Project, has called on President Trump to take action to reverse some of the pardons and to block the release of felons who received reduced sentences thanks to clemency granted by the Biden autopen.

“We’ve been right all along and do not mind being proven right again. Now is the time for actual accountability. There are death-row inmates with bad commutations who need to be taken care of, in addition to all the other political cronies with legally void pardons,” Mr. Howell told The Washington Times.

The Washington Times reported last month that Mr. Biden’s Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer criticized “highly problematic” language used in a single warrant, signed by the autopen, that pardoned hundreds...

Ok we all knew this, now there seems to be proof. Will a single one of these illegal pardons be vacated? I’m betting not even one.

If this is true, all such pardons must be declared void and those responsible prosecuted.

I want to see every single member of the Jan. 6th unselect committee, tried for conspiracy against the United States.

Here's a shout out to Mike Howell and all watchdog groups and DOGE teams who are doggedly digging up the sunken evidence of federal (and feral!) graft and corruption!

What helps is the Keystone Kops-like screw-ups of the Bidung administration.  So many incompetent DEI hires and corrupt officials on the Biden team.

Not scores or hundreds, but THOUSANDS of unlawful autopen pardons!

Nullify them all, SCOTUS. This is a constitutional question that must be dealt with once and for all.

Biden said that he had verbally granted all pardons and commutations issued.

That’s it. It’s done.

It’s a non-justiciable question. USSC won’t take it up.

Any horror done by Biden's goons needs to be undone.

Perhaps even worse, will anybody who falsified the documents or anybody who concocted and executed the scheme be held to account? Very long prison sentences are warranted. But Otto in the next Dem administration will commute their sentences.

If it weren’t for felons there wouldn’t be a democrat party.

For who? Over what? Biden has no idea on any of these names or what "he" pardoned them for. His dementia-ridden response of "sure, I pardoned everyone they say I did" is very questionable, and I bet he couldn't name a single person he pardoned. 50/50 he even knows he pardoned Hunter. Without any proof that he knowingly pardoned any specific person, and the obvious staff use of the autopen, the only pardons that should be valid are the ones he can specifically name as ones that he supposedly did pardon. The rest, nope.

Who makes that determination?

Biden can’t be compelled to undergo any mental acuity evaluation and besides, his mental acuity would have to be evaluated at the time of the pardons / commutations.

It may not be fair, but the pardons are done. Not one will be “reversed”, etc.

Could President George Washington name all the guys he pardoned in the Whisky Rebellion? The fact you don’t like a fact doesn’t negate the facts factualness.
