Vance starts the 2028 race with advantages in the Rust Belt and Sun Belt
As we settle into the second Trump administration, eyes are already turning toward 2028. With President Donald Trump barred from a third elected term by the 22nd Amendment, the Republican nomination looks like a coronation for Vice President JD Vance. Polling shows Vance dominating the GOP field, with 46% support in a recent survey. That's far ahead of potential challengers.
Vance, the Ohio senator and author of "Hillbilly Elegy," embodies the Trumpian blend of populism, economic nationalism and cultural conservatism that has reshaped the GOP. Operationally, his run would extend Trump's legacy, focusing on border security, trade deals favoring American workers and an America First foreign policy.
On the Democratic side, the picture is murkier. The list of potential nominees reads like a progressive wish list: California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif.., and Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.

Bernie will be pushing 90 in 2028.
The left will nominate Beshear to counter JD, along with some woman (probably not white) as VP just to check the box (again).
The left is already going sooooo crazy, it is going to be a Battle Royale because of their violence, cheating and use of the leftwing media to spew lies for the next 3 years... Buckle up and pray.
Might as well throw Polis into the mix.
Never wise to under estimate the evil that the Democrats can and will do in order to get their way in anything.
2028 Looks Like Trouble for Democrats — and Republicans Are Poised to Capitalize
Republicans “Pounce”!
Isn’t the Rock in the lead? Cage match. Pay-per-view.
Of course, it’s a bit early. I recall “President Nelson Rockefeller” in 1961, “President John Connally” in 1973 and “President Colin Powell” in 1993.
Republicans do not poise to capitalize. Winning scares them.
> Never wise to under estimate the evil that the Democrats can and will do… <
Voter fraud remains a thing.
Beyond that, the Republican Party is not nicknamed the “stupid party” for nothing. Trump has pretty much got it all together. But downstream from him are lots of folks who are quite capable of doing something dumb at the last minute.
In 1991 George Bush enjoyed a 92% favorability rating after the Gulf War.
In 1992, he lost to Clinton.
Don’t get too cocky about 2028.
The democrats have three years of one-sided, deceitful media coverage to make people forget the good achievements and paint the Republicans as evil monsters.
Let me run that through the Reality Filter:
Republicans are poised to squander their opportunity and advantage, utterly, and comtinue being the useless, ball-less, brainless, feckless, spineless, worthless dupes they have been for many, many years.
They put a potato in the highest office and lied to the voting public about it.
*************************
It was amazing.
The MSM was running propaganda for Biden, while we “conspiracy theorists” knew he was POTATUS.
Nor the republicans ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
I hope that they’ve grown a backbone and won’t be afraid to take the fight to whomever is the democrat nominee.
Pffft. Trouble? They got Dwayne Johnson running for president... all their troubles are over 😆
Perhaps the cutoff of some of the USAID money laundering will diminish “some” of the democRAT Voter Fraud Leviathan.
That said, the Left will do ANYTHING to regain power. If they do, they will never let go. President Trump should never have happened the first time, let alone a second time.
If President Trump can put a big enough dent in the Deep State, perhaps those that follow President Trump can use his example of in-your-face truth telling, along with a heavy dose of telling them to place it where the Sun doesn’t shine.
Bernie already said he won’t run.
My sister’s money is on Wes Moore from MD. She and my BIL just moved from MD to PA.
