Correct. They put these people on drugs which work...sometimes. When they don't work, the failure is often catastrophic. And even when they do work, there's the problem of what happens when these people go off their meds--which is also often catastrophic.

It's really hard to argue that the mental health professions have made life better for people with mental illness. Indeed, there seems to be more mental illness now than ever before in human history, even though there is more awareness and more mental health professionals than ever before.

They closed psych centers and dumped nutcases onto the street years ago, claiming they could get better treatment in the community, when in fact it was to take that money, and blow it on other crap. The crazies then refused to take their meds, or comply with counseling arrangements, and of course nobody bothered to enforce their compliance with their scheduled treatment plans. This occurred in New York State when Mario Cuomo was Governor, and it continued under his son. The mentally ill eventually ended up in the prison system. I know, because I worked in NY State prisons for 25 years. Then Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul decided to close dozens of State prisons and dump convicts onto the street the same way they dumped the mentally ill.

We already have the formula, it’s called mental institutions. But like so many things, the Left took us down the woke road and we did away with institutionalizing (voluntarily or involuntarily) mentally incapacitated individuals. With proper therapy people can become more comfortable being in their own body. It can help to varying degrees, some get over it altogether, some its harder but most can tolerate who they are afterwards. Takes more work with some, also their mindset for desiring/wanting to be ok with it, is important.

Forcing everyone else toclive in the land of make believe has never been the solution. Libtards think so because they want to force everyone to be in a safe space - but just for their libtard socialist views.
