Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) this week responded to leftists raging about the removal of a rainbow LGBT crosswalk outside of Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, explaining that state roads will no longer be “commandeered for political purposes.”
The crosswalk outside of Pulse nightclub, where 49 people were murdered in 2016, has been painted over by Florida’s department of transportation. This follows action taken by DeSantis and Republicans over the summer to keep roads distraction-free.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer also weighed in on the removal of the rainbow-themed crosswalk, stating he was “devastated” and that the crosswalk actually enhanced “safety and visibility.”

Some kid was actually prosecuted in my town for leaving skidmarks on a rainbow-painted crosswalk here. The communist local government is all into this kind of crap, of course. Restoring sanity will be a long-term project, and by no means a sure thing.
Orlando was one of the woke cities that took down a monument to Florida’s war dead.
The city’s leaders need to work up a whole new value system; one that can be explained in a wholesome manner to audiences of children, women, and men.

Actually, A rainbow crosswalk is like painting a target. Why would they think it’s safer?

Back in the 70s when suicide jumpers were common around the Texas campus (especially around finals), it was proposed to paint bullseyes next to all the tall buildings on campus. It would give the jumper a target to aim for on the way down and it would give pedestrians warning of where to walk around.
Buddy Dyer is a jerk.
He has been in office too long, way too long.
Problem is, there is a dearth in talent to oust Dyer.

In flagrante caught by his then female wife— in the sack with another ‘jack’. Fact. Soccer fields and paid delivery busloads of illegal aliens dumped in neighborhoods which do not want them, in the dead of night (or any other time). One should say- the “Un”-Desantis urban has been demonrat.
The crosswalk in question is a major thoroughfare- clearly marked now without the silliness of rainbow color- and not very importantly leads (or led to) a Dunkin Donut shop been there for a decade before there ever was a cruising queer club. The dude who shot 49 people was/is a Muzzie, and his “wifey” knew what he was going to do- and got away with not being an accessory.
