"But where we want to start is about losses, killed in action, wounded in action, missing an action. And what you'll hear me say again and again is any figures where there is incentive and there's no repercussion to lie, then be very very careful with any of this. There's a massive information war that is not only taken on board by people with no lives who do it just themselves, but there's also people with financial incentive to push information, especially on websites like this, as well as state funded propaganda as well. I've got my eye on a few I think are receiving a lot of that. So, let's have a look at this today. Now, typically what we get is these numbers thrown out by everything from the Ukrainian ministry to bloggers and whatever, but this time we have it on the other side and we call BS where we see BS. Ukraine's military losses exposed. 1.7 million dead and missing. Apparently, Russian hackers have have breached the Ukrainian general staff's datab database. And this is what it is showing here of 1.7 million killed or missing. And you can see how these have increased over time and I have no doubt that losses will have increased over time. The hack was carried out apparently by Kilnet, Palak Pro, user and Berini. Now apparently they have terabytes of sensitive material and as we say with any numbers take it at best with a grain of salt or a truckload backing up of salt. They always are used for propaganda. And what I've said about propaganda in this war is by just pushing false information, no one ever receives much backlash. There's never any accountability. There's no repercussion.

One thing that could help would be the automatic enforced enlistment of anyone who posts on the net in favor of fighting the war. They could institute the Zeepers Brigade.
The hacker story has spread everywhere excepting the MSM.
There will be challenges to the 1.7M number, but the real issue is the contrast with the 35K number Zelensky passes along to the Euros and Trump.
I do not think Tulsi is having the NRO get involved in this. She obviously has enormous amounts of other work to do, and that leaves Ukraine intel input as the only data source. Their numbers will briefed to Trump, and even with a caveat of no independent confirmation, but the numbers get heard and the caveat only gets a frown.
This 1.7M item MAY get into the next briefing, with its own set of caveats.
I have seen some analysis. The 1.7M would include combat deaths, combat wounded, logistics injuries getting on or off personnel carriers, desertions, surrenders, illness (at their age, heart attacks in the field).
This would all be in the MoD database to be hacked. And by hacked one likely means guessing a weak password.
They say they have names and ages and personal details. When those start leaking out . . . . I would suspect a Ukraine media defense will be to have a name released and rush to the relevant address and show the guy alive.
See? Bogus!
But they said wounded, too.
You have been awarded the Order of Lenin for your comment.
I really have a hard time wrapping my head around war in principle. Generations of work, family artifacts, and irreplaceable materials are destroyed. What is gained but a huge mess to clean up and damaged people to order around, people who will hate your guts forever? At that point, any profit would seem virtual.
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Both sides in the Ukraine/Russia war have used information warfare from the start.
Deception and control over information is an essential part of warfare.
Expect it. Realize it is always there. Be skeptical of all information received from all sources.
Unlike Vietnam, the US news media is not sending people to report on the war in Ukraine.
Both sides have been big liars from the beginning.
At least the ISW provides accurate war maps.
ISW?
Victoria Nuland family run?
Honest?
Indeed.
One small change. ALL sides, because it seems there are more than two, when one noses around a bit. The multinational hedge funds -- here and in Europe, and perhaps elsewhere -- have been behind the scenes, trying not to call attention to themselves.
For this, the world-stage "leaders" have been featured players, whereas it is likely they are following a script. We've seen something similar in these United States, with Democrat-led media saying the same thing -- sometimes verbatim -- across many channels.
Yes, but he goes on to say the 1.7 million numbers are false. From the Transcript:
Russian actors claims of 1.7 million
troops killed or missing uh during the
three and a half years of war are fake
and physically impossible. And he says
it’s missing any lack of reliable
sources on other uh posts. My estimate,
he says, of total Ukrainian force
casualties is 160,000 to 200,000 killed
based on the 15 nearly 155,000 killed or
missing through UA losses. The number of
wounded was 640 to 800,000 based on a
4:1 kill to death wounded so killed to
wounded ratio. We’ll talk about that in
a sec. He goes, “Russian forces
casualties during the last 3 and a half
years estimated to be at least 125,000
killed based on media zone and 500,000
wounded based on the 4:1 ratio.” He also
speaks about then the separatist
formations are around 25,000 killed
maybe 100,000 wounded.
Good, someone actually read the article.
“The 1.7M would include combat deaths, combat wounded, logistics injuries getting on or off personnel carriers, desertions, surrenders, illness”
Probably includes mercenaries as well. I wonder what the Russians have in losses if you include the same analysis.
Have to hack the Russian MoD in equivalent form to have that data.
The best Russian unit got completely creamed when they foolishly took on Us forces in Syria. I’d bet their numbers would be worse than the Ukes.
This article is not the original source of the data. I have seen it splashed all over.
This article picked it up from elsewhere.
