This may be the only way forward and out of this war as it now exists.

And how much good is air support when the war is missiles, fabs, and …drones by the thousands

Most of the Russian air attacks are launched from outside of Ukraine

Um, there's really no way to have air support without "ground troops", there has to be some type of ground support for air assets.

Too far for carrier-based aircraft.

Why don't we let the Europeans take the lead on this.

Some Italian air assets, a British armor battalion and French infantry units. And some nice Danish pastries....

Fail.

Not a problem in which the USA should be entangled.
Arbitrator for peace is fine. US Military interaction, or intervention in any manner, is utter foolishness.

The blood of our children is not to be risked in this regional matter, in any manner.

I sure hope he’s talking about maybe airlift support, and not maybe CAP.

If for no other reason than the assets are best positioned in the Pacific where our real interests are.

If it gets our guys some good drone training without us directly getting into anything with the Russians, ok, but the Euros won’t leave it at that. They’ll try to drag us into it like they did with Serbia. It’s Europe’s problem and war, not ours.

Trump has done wonders in trying to end this conflict but can he take a position and stick to it and not come out 24 hrs later on the other side. He’s not negotiating with Manhattan Community Bd 6 or the NYC Building Trades. If he feels being flexible is important then dont do it publicly on social media.

..... Let those engagements be observed in their genuine sense. But, in my opinion, it is unnecessary and would be unwise to extend them.

Taking care always to keep ourselves by suitable establishments on a respectable defensive posture, we may safely trust to temporary alliances for extraordinary emergencies.

Harmony, liberal intercourse with all nations, are recommended by policy, humanity, and interest. But even our commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand; neither seeking nor granting exclusive favors or preferences; consulting the natural course of things; diffusing and diversifying by gentle means the streams of commerce, but forcing nothing; establishing (with powers so disposed, in order to give trade a stable course, to define the rights of our merchants, and to enable the government to support them) conventional rules of intercourse, the best that present circumstances and mutual opinion will permit, but temporary, and liable to be from time to time abandoned or varied, as experience and circumstances shall dictate; constantly keeping in view that it is folly in one nation to look for disinterested favors from another; that it must pay with a portion of its independence for whatever it may accept under that character; that, by such acceptance, it may place itself in the condition of having given equivalents for nominal favors, and yet of being reproached with ingratitude for not giving more. There can be no greater error than to expect or calculate upon real favors from nation to nation. It is an illusion, which experience must cure, which a just pride ought to discard......
