‘We’ll Put It Up’: Trump Says He’s Getting Border Wall Materials Back After Biden Sold Them Off

'Rebar is very expensive. The hardest rebar. It’s very hard to cut.'

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump vowed Wednesday to complete the border wall with materials that former President Joe Biden sold off “for pennies on the dollar,” as The Daily Wire first reported in December.

The president spoke with the press on Wednesday at the Kennedy Center after announcing the recipients of the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Asked by The Daily Wire about reports that parts of the border wall will be returned to the federal government, Trump promised: “We are taking that wall back.”

The president pointed to the Biden administration’s efforts to sell off the wall materials. Videos obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire from a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in December showed trucks hauling away unused sections of the wall from a section of the border just south of Tucson, Arizona, a hotspot for illegal crossings during the Biden administration.

“They sold the wall,” the president said. “This is expensive stuff. Hardened steel, very expensive. 9,000-pound concrete and rebar. Rebar is very expensive. The hardest rebar. It’s very hard to cut. You have different materials. It’s very hard to cut. They cut it down if they can. It’s very hard to cut.”

“Biden sold it for pennies on the dollar, $0.03 on the dollar, $0.04 on the dollar, he sold it,” Trump added.

“Well, Pam Bondi has been working very hard on suing that company and I think they’ve reached a settlement where we’re taking the wall back,” Trump added, glancing at the attorney general, who was watching the president’s remarks along with other administration officials. “But they stole the wall from us. That wall was so expensive to build. And we had it, as you know, hundreds of miles of it. They came along...”

We are going to take the wall back,” he said again. “We are paying a small amount of money, as I understand it, to get it back,

So the company that bought it still makes some money.

“So the company that bought it still makes some money.”

Not if they’re on their way to prison and bankruptcy - which would be MY choice. ;)

“We’ll put it up.”

And the next Democrat president will tear it down.

Unless… the GOP Congress gets creative. We need a law making it illegal to reduce the border wall in any way without a new law being passed.

Come on, guys. Just do it.

No, I think the money that Pres. Trump is talking about is for legal fees. The company could have sold it for scrap for a lot more than they paid, now they are going to have to give it back, or the money they made selling some of it. I could be wrong, but it sounds to me more of the way Pres. Trump works, imho.

Tearing it down once it is in place would take a heck of a political fight, a real national battle for tearing down something that was already expensively built and when no reason exists to expensively unbuild it,

Biden, controlled by his staff and dem leaders maybe are responsible for all of the gross incompetence, beginning with Afghan pullout and everything else anti-American. Seems the Afghan fiasco is what allowed Putin to fund his war. It provided Russia with the equipment to arm his troops. Afghans don’t know how to operate anything mechanical other than lob a grenade and shoot a rifle.

Maybe not. The next Democrat president could just issue an executive order to put openings in the wall here and there. You know, for humanitarian reasons. For the children.

Then the mainstream media would clap like the trained seals they are.

Openings would be one thing, although difficult to explain, but expensively tearing down the expensive wall that is already in place, no.

I wish they’d finish that wall. I just saw a video of a huge mob heading north from Guatemala the other day. Hundreds or thousands of them. And they were being escorted by military.

Trump claims that the wall — made of expensive hardened steel, rebar, and concrete — was sold by the Biden administration for pennies on the dollar, and that Pam Bondi is working to sue the company to “get the wall back.”

This makes little sense. Scrap dealers probably bought this material months ago, and most would have already resold or processed it. Once it’s been sold as scrap, it’s highly unlikely the government can legally reclaim it — nor should taxpayer money be wasted trying.

Instead of pouring billions into Ukraine or sending bombs and Patriot missiles to Israel, we should focus on our own needs and our own security here at home.

A few thoughts:

1) scrap prices are low right now so buyers are holding inventory

2) IF the stuff is still there, you negotiate a win/win deal. Not everything is force of law.

Most of what was not finished on the wall was where there were openings needed to allow the heavy duty construction equipment go back-and-forth to both sides as they were building the rest of it. Instead of closing off those gaps, Biden removed the steel and left the wall open at intervals along it’s length. Dems hate America.

Unfortunately, it is only the communists who would be creative enough to pull that off...
The GOP would not interrupt their perpetual circle-jerk to do it...

RE: And the next Democrat president will tear it down.

That would be theoretically the least of our problems.

In reality, we will not allow our great nation to be taken from us by a minority of Mamdanis and loudmouth Jasmines.

No.
