A man is going viral on social media for his "Texas-sized" appetite after devouring three 72-ounce steaks in one single day โ and then some. Video creator Mohamed Mbengue, known online as MoMotion, became the first man to accomplish the challenge three times in one day at an iconic Texas steakhouse, the business announced on Thursday, August 7.
Big Texan Steak Ranch, located in Amarillo, is renowned for its daunting food challenge, which requires diners to eat an entire five-item meal to receive it for free. Since the steakhouse's 1960 inception, the competition has attracted notable figures such as The Travel Channel's Man v. Food cast and actor Will Ferrell.
A video from the Big Texan shows MoMotion dancing and bowing to cheering customers as a staff member hands him three award certificates. In another clip, an employee asks if heโs ever been banned from all-you-can-eat buffets, to which he answers yes โ understandable.
Yet, the record still remains with Molly Schuyler, who who ate three of the steaks in just 20 minutes back in 2015.
"Bro just demolished 18 pounds of food plus water and condiments," TikTok user Julio Rodriguez commented on the post. "That should be a universal record in my book. Wow."
MoMotion's fans were stunned by his achievement, but even more baffled by what came next. In follow-up videos, he travels to another Amarillo restaurant, Taste of Thai, immediately after the steak challenge to take yet another food competition โ the Pho Challenge. The challenge features more than five pounds of food and is also free if finished in under an hour.
The record is still TWO of the steaks demolished by Molly Schuyler of Omaha (now CA?), a competitive eater who came up on Memorial Day in 2015 to eat a steak in about 5 - 6 minutes, and then to polish off another one in about 9:30.
I was there and talked to the owner/GM, just after she accomplished it. It may have been a stunt, but no publicity is bad publicity!
A ping out to the Texas Ping list, founded by Windflier.
A silly story, but one which many, many people have tried through the years.
Another special Texas summer edition for your perusal.
As always, please FReepmail me if you want on or off the Texas Ping list.
Blessings, and stay cool!
I thought she did 3 that day in about 21 minutes including baked potato (3) and salad (3)..
wonder if he’s done any pork chop challenges
Sounds like a Somali....................
No it was two when I was there. Her comment “I should have ordered a third” made the local press back then.
I haven’t been back since, but she may have some back and upped her record.

Well, at least the Nathan’s 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest is safe.
We’ve been there 3 times.
Food/steaks weren’t too bad at all. After all, we went back two more times...lol.
The last time were were there, we were travelling on motorcycles with two other couples. The husband of one of the other couples confidently tried to do the challenge. He’s a big guy that loves to eat. No dice...he couldn’t finish it off in the allotted time although he did eventually finish the food off.
Just tel Mo that it wasn’t steak he was devouring.
OINK!
My son and I have done the challenge, me in the 80’s and him about 10 years ago.
Still doesn’t beat the original Trail Dust steakhouse (was in Little Elm), which is no longer there but a chain version is in Dallas. The other two good ones are the Cattleman’s in the Ft. Worth Stockyards (eat there at least 2-3 times a year when in Ft. Worth) and the old chain Dunston’s in Dallas.
I’m glad you got a good meal there. Ours was awful.
Always gotten a good meal at Feldman’s in Canyon (just a few miles south of Amarillo).
More people should stop in Amarillo to visit, not just pass thru. Embassy Suites has great family rooms, local restaurants are great, quick drive into Palo Duro for horseback riding, touring the canyon, Texas The Musical, and 4th of July weekend is a blowout with fireworks shows, parades, concerts, etc.
Cool place to visit for a 4 day trip.
There was a Trail Dust in Arlington, too. Ate there before seeing the Rangers play.
That was the one where if you wore a tie, they would cut it in half, and you’d get a free drink?
Seems like a very low cost method for publicity!

She’s a little woman too!
