PANIC IN KIEV: Russian Forces Breach Ukrainian Defenses, Make a Major Breakthrough in Donetsk Region
Gateway Pundit ^ | Aug. 12, 2025 | by Paul Serran

Posted on 08/12/2025 3:27:52 PM PDT by Kazan

Ukrainian defenses are buckling under the relentless Russian pressure.

This happened in the area near Pokrovsk: instead of banging their heads against a heavily fortified city, Russian forces, as they do, circumvent it, seeking to cut all supply lines and encircle the defenders, at which point the garrison has to either surrender or be destroyed by attacks from all sides.

This playbook was implemented in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Kurakhovo, Ugledar and so many other places.

What is striking now is that the northern prong, expected to turn west to encircle Pokrovsk, found weaknesses on the depleted defenses, and dashed north by 9 miles.

Post by Senior Editor Security Policy and Conflicts at German paper BILD, Julian Röpcke: If the Ukr army does not finally and immediately send a *real* battalion (not a platoon-size “brigade”) to cut off and neutralize every Russian north of Nykanorivka, it can also give Putin Donetsk oblast for free.

Seriously, how long can you close your eyes to not see this?!

The Russian breach of Ukraine’s eastern frontline has triggered a panic in the country – or, as the MSM would prefer, ‘a wave of indignation and confusion’.

This development comes three days before Friday’s historic Alaska summit between Donald J. Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Financial times reported:

“Ukrainian and western military analysts said that Russian forces had advanced nearly 15km over the past few days along a narrow corridor parallel to Dobropillia, a coal mining town turned key logistical hub north of the stronghold of Pokrovsk that Russian troops have nearly encircled.

The shock advance threatens to cut off a vital road linking Dobropillia to Kramatorsk, the de facto capital of Ukrainian-held Donetsk region which the Russians aim to capture, while allowing the Kremlin’s forces to bypass and flank a belt of fortifications and defensive lines built in recent months.”

Reuters reported:

“Ukraine’s authoritative DeepState war map showed on Tuesday that Russian forces had advanced […] north in two prongs in recent days, part of their drive to take full control of Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

The advance is one of the most dramatic in the last year. DeepState said the Russians had surged forward near three villages on a section of the frontline associated with the Ukrainian towns of Kostyantynivka and Pokrovsk, which Moscow is trying to encircle by exploiting Kyiv’s lack of manpower.

‘The situation is quite chaotic, as the enemy, having found gaps in the defense, is infiltrating deeper, trying to quickly consolidate and accumulate forces for further advancement’, DeepState said on its Telegram channel.”

As usual, the Ukrainian general staff did not confirm the advance on Tuesday morning – but not even the MSM is waiting for them anymore – FT and Reuters now run with the unofficial – but much more reliable – Telegram sources.

Former Nazi Azov regiment chief of staff Bohdan Krotevych took to X to post a message to Zelensky:

“Mr. President, I sincerely don’t know what exactly is being reported to you, but I’m informing you: on the Pokrovsk – Kostiantynivka line, without exaggeration, it’s complete chaos. And this chaos has been growing for a long time, worsening with each passing day.

The command structures currently being appointed (or already appointed) to ‘fix the unfixable’ will most likely be blamed for the chaos that’s already unfolding. A stable line of combat contact, as such, effectively doesn’t exist.

Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are almost surrounded. Kostiantynivka is in a semi-encirclement. The enemy is advancing toward Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka.”

No surprise. Z has already let so may Ukranian troops die, he’s having boys as young as 14 gathered up on the streets and sending them to the front lines.

Pops told me the Marines should have starved Tarawa... he said Pelailu also but that Pelailu taught the Corp what the enemy was capable of and the USMC trained to that standard, even though Pelailu defenses were never equaled pound-for-pound, man-for-man.

Russia has four times the population of Ukraine and had far more military equipment in reserve. At a certain point, this was inevitable. It’s not going to get better for Ukraine. They should take the best deal that they can get right now and stop the bleeding. As it is, they have millions of ex-patriots who are likely not to return, so that country is in very big trouble long-term.

Azov (neo-Nazi) troops are being sent in, so you know its bad. No, not to fight Russians. To shoot fleeing Ukrainians so the rest will stand and fight.

This is why not much will likely come of the Trump/Putin meeting Friday. You can hear the Trump admin talking it back lately.

Simply, Russians have the initiative on the ground, as they have since the beginning. The Ukraine harpies and internationalists either don’t or can’t understand that initiative is nearly *everything in a war.

Russia has had everything thrown at it by NATO and the West yet still have kept the initiative. They’ve been outspent by multiples, been sanctioned and have been on the wrong end of all NATOS gear, money and intel. The stick has had little or no real effect, none of it has worked.

Unless Trump throws giant carrots at Putin (trade deals, acceptance of territories, normalization etc) his side doesn’t need to concede much or agree to any ceasefires.

The west, particularly the UK and EU globalists and their U.S. deep-state allies, were happy to place a low-probability bet that Ukraine would be a successful proxy against Russia

They failed badly. Ukraine is being destroyed. But in fact, the UK and EU regimes will escape from consequences either

Russia tried to take the city in 2022. Now 3 years later they have decided NOT to attack the city.

I read the whole article and no zero references or evidence of “panic in Kyiv”.

More like you and the author are squeeing over this, which indicates you are overhyping it.

At least wash your hands when you’re done.

Some day when Zelensky is living as a billionaire in Western Europe people will have forgotten all the blood shed was needless.

All the US taxpayers money spent to learn about drone warfare.

Zeepers love War and Bloodshed, as long as it’s not their blood or their
families blood being shed.

“Putin is a THUG.”
Zelensky is also a THUG.
Talk to some of the Russians living in Ukraine and the men that have been beaten by Zelensky’s thug military.
Or you could talk to the Hungarian family of the man Zelensky’s army recruiters beat to death.
