Ukraine fears that the Kremlin will try to convince President Trump at U.S.-Russian talks in Alaska that Ukraine, not Russia, is the obstacle to peace.
With President Trump and President Vladimir V. Putin preparing to meet in Alaska on Friday, ending the Russian leader’s years of diplomatic isolation with the West, Ukraine’s sidelined leaders warned that the Kremlin would try to “deceive America” as Mr. Trump pushed to end the war.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is determined to demonstrate that his country is not the obstacle to peace by emphasizing Kyiv’s willingness to accept an unconditional cease-fire, an idea that Russia has rejected. He has cautioned that Mr. Putin will try to drive a wedge between the United States, Ukraine and its European allies by putting forth demands that the Kremlin knows Ukraine cannot accept and then portraying Mr. Zelensky as the barrier to a deal.
“We understand the Russians’ intention to try to deceive America — we will not allow this,” Mr. Zelensky said in his evening address to the nation on Sunday night.
But even as Ukraine and its European backers are pressing hard for Mr. Zelensky to be included in the negotiations, Mr. Trump suggested on Monday that he was already frustrated with the Ukrainian leader, seeming to claim that Ukraine was fighting a war of choice.
“I was a little bothered by the fact that Zelensky was saying, ‘I have to get constitutional approval’” to relinquish territory, Mr. Trump told reporters. “He’s got approval to go into war and kill everybody, but he needs approval to do a land swap?”

didn’t it drop a day or two ago that the 5 Eyes were not going to be copied on PDJT and Putin convo.
So that would mean the IC 4th Branch is isolated also. Thus they would have a more difficult time trying to derail the talks and peace agreement.

The US military-industrial complex is the most capable in the world. It is the best funded in the world.
It simply is not logical for Russia to permit Ukraine and its supporters to stall for time.
If Hitler asked for a ceasefire in December 1944 he would have refused by FDR.

Putin would very much like the war end and things back to normal (with two more oblasts to boot).
Putin wants a permanent deal. He doesn’t want a ceasefire that merely gives Trump and Hegseth time to rev up the American Military-Industrial Complex.
The best way to get a deal out of Putin is to put public pressure on him.
That means putting a complete, ready-to-sign long-term deal document in front of Putin and the world to read that Putin can not reasonably object to.
