Legacy of Covid, Biden, even fall-out from both the post 9/11 Bush/Obama years. Yet Trump will get the blame for all this chaos.

Need more info, however this might fall onto the wing walkers if the flight was pushing back.

I've marshalled aircraft to and from parking many times, usually at airshows. Moving backward, the pilot depends quite a bit on the ground crew to stay clear of conflicts.

Repeating, we need more info before issuing too much judgement.

I mean the chaos of flight and transportation safety institutions/mechanisms lately in general. Boeing was also ticking with all its corruption 🙄.

It sounds like a ground’s keeper issue. Gotta keep ‘em separated.

Lousy article, pathetic/inaccurate headline.

The plane wasn’t responsible (nor the pilot).

Ground crew effed up in either pushing back or guiding the empty plane into an interference configuration.

Who is in charge of the FAA right now?
Federal Aviation Administration
Agency overview
Annual budget US$19.807 billion (FY2024)
Agency executives Bryan Bedford, Administrator Chris Rocheleau, Deputy Administrator
Parent agency U.S. Department of Transportation
Website faa.gov

They haven’t been on the job very long and Pete and Joey left ‘em a pretty big shit hole to clean up.

“””Moving backward, the pilot depends quite a bit on the ground crew to stay clear of conflicts.”””

True. You don’t see many rear view mirrors on airplanes.

Yup - Ground crew. Pilot only has brakes, can’t steer and can’t see worth a damn when backing up.

Marshaled plenty, from fighters to C-5s.

Fighters have them, mounted on the canopy bow.

Transports, nope.

I’ve seen them on fighters, can’t think of any others.

In July I flew first class from Jacksonville to Seattle. There were 20 passengers and 1 stew. She was always available instantly for anything we needed. She even fixed a special meal for me which was not on the menu.

Yup, first though that came to mind. Some dude wasn't watching and it was his only job.

Any major airport looks like Mogadishu.

Should replace the ‘L’ in DELTA with an ‘I’.

Delta Air Lines is strongly committed to its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, viewing them as crucial to its business and talent strategy. Despite some companies and the federal government reducing or eliminating DEI programs, Delta has reaffirmed its dedication to these efforts.

At this rate, their airport will be a 5 star resort while American facilities remain Motel 6 or worse:
