Victor Davis Hanson breaks down what he calls the most sweeping political counter-revolution in modern American history—one that’s reshaping the military, the border, higher education, foreign policy, and the economy all at once.
In this powerful analysis, Hanson paints a picture of a president who's not just reversing the progressive tide, but exposing it. Illegal immigration? Blocked. DEI and university corruption? Called out. Military recruitment? Rebuilt. Meanwhile, entrenched institutions are being forced to admit guilt—on antisemitism, on academic overreach, and on systemic rot.
On the world stage, Trump is redefining diplomacy through strength—not surrender. Putin’s war machine and Hamas’ terror calculus are both rattled, and now, facing unprecedented losses, they struggle to justify their aggression. But Trump’s real leverage may lie in the economy: massive tariffs, deregulation, and strategic cuts aimed at closing the $2 trillion deficit—without touching defense or entitlements.

TOTALLY AGREE
VDH direct is worth a listen most times he says anything. The parasites that reproduce his presentations not.
The only real fly in the ointment I see is yet to be determined, tariffs and inflation from them. Time will tell. It is too early to know right now.
Especially compared to the Biden team. What a waste of four years that was! So glad it is over and The Donald is back in charge.
And hey, he gives the democrats and leftists something to bitch about!
As Rush Limbaugh used to say, the Left are dangerous in power, but comedy out of power.
Will BTTT when I get off work.
Putin isn’t rattled. Hamas might be. Putin is stringing him along. “Sure sure I want peace, yeah, with terms Ukraine would be idiots to accept of course, but let’s talk while I keep fighting the war”. Not even a little rattled.
Biden to Trump is as Alfred E. Neuman to Superman.
“yet to be determined, tariffs”
Most of us watching are neither pro nor anti tariffs.... we don’t know how it will turn out and are nervous.
Part of it is negotiating leverage. Part of it seems to be bluff with no cards in Trump’s hand. Other parts seem to have Trump holding a royal flush. It is dragging out with both pro and anti saying “wait til this next round”.
Nowhere that I can find is an itelligent explanation of how to win with tariffs.... it is just cheerleading ... and booing...from the sidelines of the game.
no idea what you are talking about, we hold ALL the cards when it comes to tariffs. Because we are the biggest customers on the planet.
hoping to see the tariff revenue make major cuts in the federal income tax possible, SOON!
Yes, it’s a Trump Revolution!

MAGA in action.
Pride goeth before a . . . . .
We are dependent on many things we cannot produce.
There are things we don’t produce and would take many years to produce.
Tariffs try to control the free market and make it a non-free market. The free market will pop up in goods smuggled in and hundreds of expensive market distortions.
That is not to say that there is a time and place for tariffs. But where?
When we restart production of goods that we foolishly exported to slave nations prices will tumble and employment will increase.
Given that the USA is the worlds largest market, the threat of taking away access to that market brings other countries to their knees.
You are entitled to your own opinions but I hardly think so. Not unless they are produced in even more modern factories by robotics cutting out our high cost of labor but even at that I doubt prices will go down. They never have in the past when production was moved from the lowest cost areas to a system protected by tariffs. Competition and refusal are the only things that reduce prices.
As for tariffs, someone has to pay them. Usually the consumer pays at least part of them and nobody willingly just absorbs them accepting lower profit as a result.
I never did like offshoring production, it merely resulted in higher profits and little or no reduction in costs, it did keep costs down for awhile. If things change for the better it will take a long time. We didn’t get here overnight and we won’t get change overnight either.
Believe what you want. Time will prove someone right or not.
I agree with that. I only pay attention to what VDH himself says.
What Trump has already accomplished at the border and in-country chasing down foreign criminals is amazing. The amount of diplomatic work he has done with foreign powers is staggering:

“Trump’s Peace Diplomacy: Brokered Ceasefires in Five Global
In a surprising shift from his earlier political persona, Trump has now played a key role in diffusing tensions and brokering ceasefires in at least five major global conflicts,...”
Plus the ongoing tariff deals and much more, in 200 days.
“That is not to say that there is a time and place for tariffs. But where?”
Every country Trump is dealing with has had massive tariffs on us for decades. They haven’t stopped on their own because they were making out. Now Trump is evening up the game. We’ve already taken in $37 Billion to the Treasury and that figure is estimated to be around $300 Billion when all the tariffs are re-negotiated.
Enjoy.
Were you paying attention during Trumps first administration when he brought back lots of factories with good wages and the economy was booming until the Covid hoax was perpetrated on the whole world to stop it?
