New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani took aim at President Donald Trump in a Thursday press conference amid a report that the president is weighing getting involved in the race.
"Donald Trump has not called me," Mamdani told reporters on Thursday in New York City.
"I've said that my approach to Washington will not be a reflexive one, it is one that will be in opposition to Donald Trump's administration when it comes for New Yorkers, when it comes at the expense of the welfare of the people that I'm seeking to serve," Mamdani continued.
"If the president and the administration is looking to work for the benefit of dollars, which is what he spent so much of his campaign speaking about. That is a different conversation if he wants to actually act upon the cheaper groceries. But he told us he would deliver. That is a different conversation. But what threatens the president so much about my campaign and our movement is the fact that it showcases the way in which he's betrayed the very people that we are seeking to serve."
Trump, according to a New York Times report this week, recently spoke on the phone with Cuomo and has been talking with associates about who has the best chance to beat Mamdani between Cuomo, current mayor Eric Adams, and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

So, he doesn’t care about making NYC better for residents of NYC. (and tourists, which are important for the economy.) He just wants to engage in some kind of war with Trump. Is that going to help the 8.5M residents of NYC, or the just as many guests?

The military will have to be called in to restore order at some point. New York represents 5-10% of America’s GDP. They are going to try to burn it down just like L.A.
The president should not elevate Mamdani’s profile by giving him individual attention. Not at this point. Otherwise, the race will become all about Trump. A complete and purposeful distraction from the real dangers.
Those in NY who are Anti-ANYTHING-Trump related will quickly rally to support this Muslim-Communist, doing all the hard work for him. They will hold Zoran up high, thinking that they are somehow ‘winning’ against what President Trump stands for.
Later on, if Mamdani is indeed elected Mayor, and later on, when his Sharia beliefs are openly put into public policy, that is when these loud, shrill supporters will ask themselves, “WTF have I done? or “I was Lied To by Mamdani!”

Mamdani is going to be NYC’s worst nightmare and the Democrats greatest gift to President Trump. President Trump has been blessed by his enemies and Mamdani will be the gift that keeps on giving if he is elected.
NYC is like a big zoo filled with wild animals that are totally dependent upon the zoo keeper to keep them alive and fed.
Mamdani is under the mistaken impression that he will be elected zoo keeper but he will quickly learn that the real zoo keeper is President Trump and that he, Mamdani, is just the guy who follows the elephant with the wheel barrow and shovel.

When President Trump crosses the street the cars look both ways.
There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya (the Shia name). These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.
Mamdani and New York city deserve each other. They are simpatico. Half of the residents are used to third world conditions.
