Oh, come on! Just declare their seats vacant and appoint some people to fill them.

If there was a bomb that at the place they are staying, how much “hunting“is needed?

Interstate flight to avoid prosecution is a federal matter. It has to be.

It is not that easy and better to do it this way.Otherwise, the courts would likely rule not all reasonable actions have occurred to first reconcile the issue and only delay the case.

Better this then go to court and show you tried and now have no recourse but to declare the seat abandoned.

Exactly. I’m no fan of the FBI, but IFAP cases are a legitimate federal function because states have no jurisdiction to pursue fugitives in other states.

Here’s a thought. Instead of hunting them down, and bringing them back... how about keeping them out... for... ever. That would automatically increase the entire state’s IQ level exponentially. Fresher air, too! Replace them with reps that actually ‘do’ have a few working brain cells. If possible.

I agree. Stop threats and do something meaningful and get the new maps adopted. I like a suggestion I heard today: for every day they stay gone, the Republicans should add another seat. Keep it up. I am concerned Cornyn and Abbott are just performative and I have no faith in Speaker Burrows. They don’t play to win, they play to stay in power.

it doesn’t work like that. New elections would have to be held. Which would take longer than this little stunt.

18 U.S.C. § 1073 Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution

This gives the FBI jurisdiction & they can be Federally charged as well.

Is there a bounty on them? Catch them and tie them to the hood and drive to the FBI weigh station. How much is the license?

The FBI enforces state laws across state borders, get it? The Texas Rangers can go to Mass and arrest these creeps.
