Hegseth’s ousting of female leaders may have ‘chilling effect’ at Pentagon

The unexplained removal of the first female head of the U.S. Naval Academy last week is the latest in a string of top military women who have either been fired or moved to largely invisible roles under the Trump administration.

The ousting of Vice Adm. Yvette Davids from her post as the first female superintendent of the academy in Annapolis, Md., makes her one of at least five senior female service members who have been moved out of their roles since January.

That trend, coupled with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s well-documented antipathy toward women in combat roles prior to becoming Pentagon chief, could have a chilling effect on women enlisting in the armed forces, experts say.

“It’s hard not to come to the conclusion that it’s going to weaken our military force by undermining the role of women who have become, I believe, an intrinsic part of our military capability,” said Leon Panetta, a former Defense secretary in the Obama administration.

Panetta, who in 2013 announced that all combat roles would soon be open to women — a shift that eventually came in 2015 — told The Hill that the Trump administration’s removal of female leaders from the ranks, often without explanation, will have impacts on morale for female service members.

“Panetta, who in 2013 announced that all combat roles would soon be open to women — a shift that eventually came in 2015”

Well gee, it must be true. There’s a movie out about an all female commando unit in Afghanistan that practically won the war all by themselves. I couldn’t stomach watching it.

The left is proving by placing fags in women’s sports that men have more strength and physical stamina than women, thus better suited for certain rolls. Certain rolls like wartime combat.

Since the democRATS and DemoKKKrats don’t believe in male/female, and cannot answer the question What Is A Woman - the person fired is just a...person.

Without a clear definition of male, female, man, woman,, there can be no “discrimination” based on sex and/or gender.

C’mon, Man!

the ‘chilling effect’ of merit over identity politics.

I have some interesting insights on how women downrange in Afghanistan were a serious distraction and detriment to the real warfighters from someone who was there in the poo. I don’t give a damn what woke idiots say, I do not think women forward in serious combat is a good idea. At all.

Chilling in what way? The military is not a place for tokenism, it is a place for results.

Even Stalin had the sense to recall a train full of senior officers on the political outs with him when the Nazis invaded.

Until the media starts treating DEI as real they will continue to report the weeding out of the unqualified and incompetent as racial and sexual firings of simple prejudice and bigotry.

BTW what happened with the very big important letter that Pentagon insiders were planning on releasing to oust Hegseth,
But then the slimy cowards were discussing that maybe they better do it anonymously.

I knew a Colonel who had trouble making decisions. She was also known for crying in meetings whenever things got tense.

It’s hard not to come to the conclusion that it’s going to weaken our military force...

It isn't hard if you choose to deny clear evidence in favor of your feeeelings. It's tougher if you judge by performance. The intention is to strengthen, not weaken.

Under the left women won’t get picked for roles like that unless they are woke liberals. I think that has something to do with it.
