It seemed that the multiracial coalition that elected Barack Obama would secure a Democratic future for this country for decades.

But instead, as America grows more diverse, it has become more conservative. Why?

When I met Joey Gibson in the spring of 2018, I was sure he was an oddity. He was a Japanese American leader of a right-wing group in the Pacific Northwest that rallied for Donald Trump and menaced opponents on the left. But Mr. Gibson also disavowed white supremacy and spoke candidly about harms against the Black community, building a movement that was at once multiracial and conservative.

For decades, the dominant assumption has been that people of color in the United States would find their natural political home within the Democratic Party, with its commitment to racial liberalism. The nation’s growing racial and ethnic diversity seemed to ensure the left’s electoral future.

My colleague Joseph Lowndes and I have been studying the movement of nonwhite voters to the right for 15 years. When we began this work, people like Mr. Gibson — who told us they hated the establishment, who felt let down or left behind by the politics of the Democratic Party — were often disdained by liberals as dupes of the right voting against their own interests, votes they would regret once they saw their conservative beliefs in action.

But seven years later, Mr. Gibson seems to be much less of an anomaly. Mr. Trump nearly doubled his support among Black voters from 2020 to 2024, won some 40 percent of the Asian American vote, and took almost half of the Latino vote. Many of those I have spoken with recently — students, lawyers, mechanics, pastors and others — sounded strikingly similar to Mr. Gibson. Angry at a system they contend is indifferent to their lives, they express ideas that were once seen only on the far-right fringe.

Just as Rush Limbaugh used to say, a conservative is just a Liberal who got mugged.

It doesn’t help that the dominant voices in the Democrat Party are over-credentialed harridans and perverts.

Liberals and the uninformed keep referring to the US as a democracy. They need civics 101 to find out that we’re not.

It could be that in their gut people are sensing that the core America was being killed off and the nation was becoming 2nd rate without it, and instinctually what they want is the America of the past, the America that they were choosing when they or their parents moved here, at some level they know that they want to live with the Americans, not replace them with a tower of babble type mixture of 50 different 3rd world homelands.

The Obama presidency was based on a boatload of lies.. And there’s no lie strong enough to sustain itself amongst sentient, free thinking people.

Remember Carville wrote a book saying that Obama’s presidency was the beginning of 40 yrs of collectivist dominance. It could still happen.

When you only get news and history from CNN, MSNBC, or late-night so-called comedians you tend to be wildly vapid, ignorant, and just stupid.

It’s hard to change a democratic republic to a socialist or communist government. It will be even harder in the future as we will continue the separation between Red states and Blue states and Red states will outperform in most every category - that will be tough to hide.

But Mr. Gibson also disavowed white supremacy

The author seems convinced that all conservatives are racist. I hope he brought his binkie and a support animal with him while he ventured outside his bubble.

He also conflates support for Donald Trump with support for Republicans. The GOP will have to start over again, starting with the Presidential candidate for 2028.

The authors remind of this quote:

Genesis 48:17- 22 – Part 3 – “THERE ARE NONE SO BLIND AS THOSE WHO WILL NOT SEE”.

The Democrats are in fact the instruments of most of the social and economic destruction the minority people they interview are complaining about, along with the RINOs and "free traitors."

Of course most other's lives are also being ruined, like the police officer I read about yesterday making $70K per year but who still cannot afford a 1 bedroom apartment in a decent area where he lives and is moving back in with his parents.

Article is behind a paywall.

I think you can make an argument that Clinton seemed normal, albeit morally weak. During Obama’s 2008 campaign Obama lied through his teeth to seem normal, even telling Saddleback Church members in a Sunday service that he opposed abortion. Obama claimed he supported DOMA (defense of marriage act). Obama deceived and got elected, but it was Obama who was/is a radical.

It was Obama, whom I strongly believe is a practicing homosexual, who took the Democrat Party off the rails and drove the Party fast and furiously into the arms of Marxism. It was Obama who laid the deep Party path that took Democrats to absurd depravity. Team Obama funded every pervert program both nationally and internationally. He thoroughly corrupted all - all - of the federal government for raw partisan power politics.

Joe Biden was nothing more than an Obama stooge. By the time Biden came along enough of the Obama machine was entrenched to fat-out steal the election and that path was opened up by Fauci. Once the rank-and-file Democrats saw what Fauci was doing (destroying the Trump economy, and thus Trumps near certain path to re-elect) then Fauci was worshiped as a demigod, complete with supporting t-shirts, lawn signs, and unquestioned obedience.

After his basement campaign, Biden was simply the drone team Obama used to further corrupt a system already rank with corruption (think USAID, etc.)

So today, I think people, particularly Gen Z types, see through the carnage of Democrat/media politics. For decades Democrats have falsely self-proclaimed that they are for the little guy, the common man and Republicans, of course, are for the rich. Talk to these people. The mask has fallen.

Many Americans cannot afford a home. Way too many people are living paycheck to paycheck. Democrats handed illegal immigrants fistful upon fistful of taxpayer wealth. Most people now see the failure of the Democrat Party which in it most base form is nothing more than a Marxist/Communist system where all the elite Democrats got stinking wealthy and everyone else got nothing.

That’s what happened and that’s what the elites at the NYTimes will probably never understand.

This article is unintentionally hilarious. A Yale professor “studying” conservatism and then writing in the New York Times about how puzzling it is that minorities, who naturally should affiliate with the Dem Party, are shockingly voting for Trump and the Republicans. The tone of the article is a mixture of befuddlement and a wistful regret for the loss of the 1,000 Year Reich of the Obama Coalition.
