The Jeffrey Epstein Case Is Far Bigger Than Jeffrey Epstein
American Thinker ^ | July 11, 2025 | Vince Coyner

On Tuesday, President Trump took umbrage at a question about the Justice Department’s assertion that there are no Epstein tapes, there is no client list, and there is nothing more to be released. The Twitterverse has been brutal towards AG Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and his #2, Dan Bongino. Many people were saying they felt betrayed, given the fact that, before the election, we were told that the files would be released and the criminals held to account.

The president has a point. There is a lot going on in Washington. There are natural disasters with dozens dead across Texas. There are continuing ICE protests across the country. There are budgets that need to be attended to, as well as rogue judges who need to be corralled, and numerous conflicts outside our borders that need to be midwifed. And all of that besides the basic blocking and tackling of running the government and trying to advance the administration’s rather ambitious agenda. And taking the time to talk about some files from a guy who’s been dead for six years seems like it might distract from all of that.

But, you see, here’s the thing: People want answers that seem logical, that provide rational explanations to obvious questions, that provide proof that the speculation is wrong. This is particularly true when the people now saying there’s nothing there were the very people who promised that answers, transparency, and accountability would be coming when they won. Well, they won, and we’re getting the same obfuscation.

The truth is that, if this were just a matter of a senator cheating on his wife with a lobbyist for some industry he regulates, it wouldn’t really matter in the big picture. If this were some bureaucrat taking bribes to...

Distraction. Noise. People are twisting more than a room full of teens at 1950s sock hop.

This is what the Left is trying to get folks to focus on. Pressure needs to be kept up for a full disclosure, but the Left warts (like Mamdani) need to be focused much more.

When I saw Trump’s reaction two things were obvious. Trump is not part of the Epstein cesspool. Trump has no clue how important exposing the truth is to us.

Watergate was a stupid break-in distraction that ate Nixon’s lunch.

This case may not be as important as others on the President’s desk, but it’s a far bigger deal than I think he understands.

That's charitable. I don't think Trump is that dumb.

Sounds like Trump.

Isaiah 10:1-2 highlights God’s displeasure with rulers who exploit the vulnerable and turn a blind eye to evil doers. Wicked rulers can bring national suffering and divine judgment.

It’s not bigger than the elimination of vote cheating, the codification of immigration restrictions, DOGE spending cuts, a ban on environmental extremism, and a statutory repeal of DEI.

Good post—agreed on both points.

Epstein is more important to some people than others.

I am in the camp that thinks it is critical to everything that is wrong with government and must be dealt with—and that means brutal transparency and accountability.

In other words I take the position that used to be held by the President, VP Vance, AG Bondi, FBI Director Patel, FBI Deputy Director Bongino, White House Counsel Alina Habba.

...but there are many folks around here who disagree and think it is a “distraction” and “old news” and “keep your eye on the policy ball”.

Good list—what is our status on those anyway?

The DOJ multitasks well.
It can do a thousand things at once, but hay, I guess this one thousand and first thing is just not important enough for some reason.

They aren’t trying to sweep anything under the rug. There are bigger fish to fry and they suddenly don’t multitask well anymore /sarc

The bottom line:

The unequal can’t tolerate the ignominy of being the unknowing.

....Especially when they can openly criticize their more attractive better

Bonding should appoint an independent special prosecutor, and one her critics would applaud.

Then a year from now after that critic-prosector examines everything in the files and examines witnesses, and in the end concludes Bondi is today not wrong, what will the critics say?

Tbey’ll say it’s another coverup.

The government is translucent.

Secrecy is a necessary function of government. Therefore, full Transparency is not required

You won’t find a better explanation and summary of how the right feels about Epstein than Liz Wheeler’s appearance on Megyn Kelly’s show yesereday. Everyone should watch it - if for no other reason than to understand what the “binders” meeting was actually all about.

Liz explains is perfectly: this is not just about Epstein, it’s about the need for JUSTICE. For everything, all the damage and harm that’s been inflicted from Obama on (and even before). We’ve been fed one shit sandwich after another and the common factor is - the worst evil doers NEVER get held accountable, and are NEVER punished.

Now it feels like we’ve being fed the same diet by Trump’s own Attorney General and that’s what this is about. Justice!

Trump is very well tuned-into his base and if he doesn’t understand what this is really about and get ahead of this debacle, it will be the biggest misjudgement of his career.

Your point is totally valid.

Unfortunately when the survival of the administration is at stake a few rules may need to be broken.

The anti Bondi crap is jealousy personified. Many can’t stand the fact she is not bending low to satisfy their low priority demands

Yeah, he used to tout Operation Warp Speed until someone pulled him aside and told him the clot shot did a lot of damage and touting it wasn’t helping him. His son convinced him to do Rogan. I think this is another case of him not getting it.

He’s been teasing JFK, MLK and other types of transparencies. Nothing really so far. Average people have been lied to and played for so long and Trump dangled hope that maybe we could get right with our governed for a change.

He may come around this weekend. Who knows?

Good summary.

The left used to have a slogan: “No justice no peace.”

Some on the right have adopted it this week.
