State Sen. Angela Paxton on Thursday filed for divorce from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, court records show.
The McKinney Republican cited “recent discoveries” and “biblical grounds” in a statement on the social media site X. “I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,” she wrote. “But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”
The couple has been married for 38 years. The news comes as Ken Paxton is running for U.S. Senate in next spring’s GOP primary against incumbent John Cornyn. The attorney general’s infidelity was a major topic of discussion during his 2023 impeachment. Angela Paxton was recused from voting in his Senate trial but present for the proceedings; the attorney general was later acquitted by the chamber in which his wife sits.

If every marriage was dissolved due to “unfaithfulness” (you have to define that, BTW), Western Civilization would cease to exist.

If true then Paxton is too stupid to continue is political career.
I thought Paxton would have made a very good US Attorney General. But perhaps the powers that be knew this was coming.
Sadly most men will fail if a “10” shows up and acts interested.
Politicians, being full of ego, are especially susceptible to thinking she really wants them.

“they’re trying to get me!”. If your ego is so much in charge that you’re no longer wary - you’re dumb!
He’s not running for Pope. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes, but he is the right type of politician and that’s all i care about. This is between him, his wife and God. I won’t judge him
What a shame-why do I wonder if his wife chose this particular time to go public with it as revenge for his having another woman? Maybe because that is what we females do...
You are probably right-most of the democrats who would want to run are either as dumb as a box of Barbies or certifiable lunatics-that seems to be the norm for the last 10+ years. And even if a politician is having multiple affairs, it is not of much importance since Bill Clinton’s antics...
Lots of marriages end after two or more decades-my 1st marriage ended after 20 years, weeks of therapy and all-the same for many of my friends, both male and female-you can’t make someone stay if they really don’t want to-and if you do, no one is going to be happy anyway. I hope both the Paxtons find happiness in their separate lives...
Over 50 percent of marriages end in the first 5 years. Most of the time people just get tired of the other person not saying I agree with it people just grow apart and other people come in stuff like this happens all the time.
