US Supreme Court liberals increasingly marginalized as conservatives flex muscles

Summary

WASHINGTON, July 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court's three liberal justices exerted waning influence during its recently concluded term, and their frustrations with the conservative majority spilled into public view in major cases involving President Donald Trump and issues such as transgender rights.

In five of the biggest cases of the term, which wrapped up with its final rulings on June 27, the court's six conservative justices were in the majority and liberal Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson were in dissent.

Top among these was the ruling on the term's final day that curbed the ability of judges to impede Trump's policies through nationwide injunctions. The other four came in cases at the heart of the American "culture wars."

Those included rulings that upheld a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors, backed a Texas law requiring pornographic websites to verify the age of users in an effort to protect minors, let parents opt children out of public school classes with LGBT themes and allowed South Carolina to strip abortion provider Planned Parenthood of Medicaid funding.

The ideological divide was abundantly clear in cases in which the justices acted on an emergency basis, sometimes called the "shadow docket," which produced a string of orders permitting Trump to enact policies impeded by lower courts.

Trump's appointment of three justices - Amy Coney Barrett in 2020, Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 and Neil Gorsuch in 2017 - during his first term in office gave the court its 6-3 conservative majority, and the nation's top judicial body has...

Traitor Roberts and Amy Conehead hold the balance of power on SCOTUS. If those two join the libs, we lose.

The one in the middle doesn’t know what a woman is. The one on the right looks like a dude.

There is a fundamental difference between the two sides of this argument.

One side sees that in order for the US to respect the welfare and desired choices of the People, the US must maintain sovereignty as a basis for its Constitutional Republic. The other side see that undermining the sovereignty of the US as integral to forcing its "democratic" [as in communist] vision on the People, willing or unwilling.

Tricky challenge or the conservative wing to draw problematic Amy in while John is in charge, but the idiocy of 2/3rds of the Democrat wing might be the strongest force in that direction.

“Trannies” already have the same rights as us as afforded by the Constitution.

They don’t want “rights”.

They want special privileges and preferential treatment.

We hear that all the time here. There’s absolutely no evidence of that. Maybe it’s true, but you have to present at least something to back that up. When you hear hoofbeats think horses, not zebras. More likely, they are just hard core leftists. Jackson is that plus a classic example of someone who is just plain stupid and programmed to follow the party line in all circumstances

The one in the middle doesn’t know what a woman is.

It's hard to tell what she is and neither can she.

She is noticeably a descendant from a pygmy tribe probably from Borneo. The other justices will be lucky if she doesn't try to eat them.

Even Kagan is starting to distance herself from the two POC retards, joining the 7-2 ruling to crush the Boston judge in the South Sudan case.

If those three only Kagan has a shred of reason. And it is a small shred.
