A glimmer of good news amid the murk.
Well I guess the IRS AMMUNITION needs are reduced too. More for me…
I see nothing wrong with this.
Awesome...I believe 1099-k....that $600 monster has reverted back to the old 20,000 and 200 sales in the bill. The $600 would have produced millions forms with $0 gains...It was just plain stupid.
According to the June 25 report, the IRS workforce has dropped from 102,113 employees to 75,702 since January—a roughly 26 percent reduction.
This is a lot better than the headline “IRS hires 80,000 more agents to go after your garage sale money”.
When I file my 1040 I always request that a four-figure amount of my refund be held as prepayment against next year’s taxes.
Never was a problem until this year.
The IRS decided to refund the full amount (no rollover) even though I had specifically asked them not to.
Can’t get a live human being on their numbers.
Asked my GOP Congressman’s office to try.
The result: While the IRS admits they made a mistake there is no way to “undo” it nor to send the unwanted refund back.
O well, no padding for next filing.
26% down and 74% to go.
How on Earth are they ‘overworked’ in the first place?
Most Everyday Americans do their own taxes on-line and the rest of the Grifters and Illegals don’t even bother to file.
No tears shed by me. What DO IRS Agents DO for 11 months out of the year? ;)
I presume they are busy auditing people who donate to conservative nonprofits,
Yeah, I should’ve figured that one out. ;)
In a typical passive aggressive move the bureaucracy will ensure cuts are to the most useful programs.
“the IRS workforce has dropped from 102,113 employees to 75,702”
A very good start. Now let’s try to get it down to 702.
Like to see them lose tens of thousands more.
When did this change back? Missed it.
No one can write anymore, there is no way the gov is only down 59k when the iRS is down 25k. HHS alone slashed 10k jobs. No way half of all cuts was IRS when all federal agencies were offered early outs. It doesn’t take a CPA like me to realize that the writer doesn’t understand what he is saying.
Math is hard.
