It is hard even to digest the incredible train of events of the last few days in the Middle East.
Iran had been reduced to an anemic, performance-art missile attack on our base in Qatar—the last Parthian shot from a terrified regime, desperate for an out—and a ceasefire.
Iran would have been better off not launching such a ceremonial but ultimately humiliating proof of impotence.
Even worse for the theocracy, Iran’s temporary reprieve came from the now magnanimous but still hated Donald Trump.
So ends the creepy mystique of the supposedly indomitable terror state of Iran, the bane of the last seven American presidents over half a century.
For Supreme Leader Khamenei, it was hard to swallow that U.S. bombers got their permission to fly into Iranian airspace from the Israeli air force.
A good simile is that Trump put a pot of water on the stove, told Iran to jump in, put the lid over them, then smiled, turned up the heat—and will now let them stew.

I did notice the lack of outrage from the “global community”. It seems that even Iran’s former allies realized Iran needed to be dealt with harshly.

Almost. The relative ease of this campaign was dependent on Iranian air defenses being neutralized. It may not be as easy if they are refurbished.
Theocracy is imprecise. God is far from anything being done by the mullahs. Allahocracy or Mullocracy might fit better.

The world learned that the Russian air defense systems sold to Iran were just not up to the task. The Russian air defenses systems are actually obsolete and incapable to deal with the IDF assaults.
The IDF proved over and over and over the same Russian air defense systems were easily taken out and very high value Iranian targets in Styria were vulnerable
Russia is the big loser. they no longer have any air defense customers.
The Iranian air defenses were neutralized in a matter of hours. Same thing can happen if the defenses are rebuilt.
Who in their right mind thinks the Iranian Mullahs will have a change of heart about any issue? What can be done now? Wait, sit on the sidelines while they regroup, rebuild and rearm?
Negotiate? With whom? The Iranian regime will not change unless THEY are decimated, not just a Nuclear site or three...
Why wait and have to act AGAIN?
Rather like the hatred the people had for the Inquisition, Cromwell’s England, the American and European witch trials, the persecution of the Jews, and the religious wars and their atrocities.
Since their Islamic revolution, Iran has been a monster upon the world’s stage. After so much evil done for so long it’s hard to believe it’s almost over. All it took was a direct attack on the bully itself and it’s been deflated like a balloon. A humiliating defeat without the kind of war that took out Germany and Japan.
But not near as much as the hatred of Trump by the MSM.
Actually you are wrong, completely wrong.
Both Germany and Japan were destroyed to the point of unconditional surrender.
President Trump, the peace at any price supporter, disallowed unconditional surrender. President Trump permitted the mullahs and their government to remain in control. The Iranians did not surrender at all.
I imagine the B-2 could have performed the same mission if the SAM threat had not been diminished - previous mission success tells us that.
Refurbishment depends on weapons and systems getting into the country from other bad actors in the region. We and Israel can probably affect and prevent that to a large degree, and if they succeed, their defenses can be taken out again.
