Georgetown University professor Jonathan Brown, who serves as the University’s chair of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies and the director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, posted a shocking suggestion to the brutal Iranian regime over the weekend.

Following the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Saturday, Brown shared a post on X saying he hoped that Iran would strike a United States military base as a “symbolic” gesture.

The Iranians were happy to please the professor. The professor's wish was likely conveyed to Iran before the missiles were launched. The professor needs to be deported to Iran, in the hopes that he assists Iran with restarting their quest for nuclear weapons, and then, BOOM!, he's gone!

“We respect freedom of speech and a person’s right to speak that opinion no matter how offensive it may be. We, as an institution, do not condone the comments of Professor Brown and will investigate this matter internally”

TRANSLATION: Professor Brown can say whatever he wants and we won’t condemn or sanction him for it - publicly or privately.

Well to be fair, maybe he meant that the response would be symbolic and involve no casualties. I was curious how he had become so joined to Arabic and Islam (not the same thing).

Georgetown University professor Jonathan A. C. Brown is married to Laila Al-Arian, an American broadcast journalist with Al Jazeera Media Network. Her father is Sami Al-Arian who was indicted in February 2003 on 17 counts under the Patriot Act. A jury acquitted him on 8 counts and deadlocked on the remaining 9 counts. He later struck a plea bargain and admitted to one of the remaining charges in exchange for being released and deported by April 2007. However, as his release date approached, a federal prosecutor in Virginia demanded he testify before a grand jury in a separate case, which he refused to do, claiming it would violate his plea deal. He was held under house arrest in Northern Virginia from 2008 until 2014 when federal prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss charges against him.

So the Obama administration released from house arrest and he was deported to Turkey on February 4, 2015
