Erdogan says Israel-Iran war near ‘point of no return,’ vows to boost missile production

The escalating Iran-Israel confrontation is quickly reaching “the point of no return,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday and announced plans by Ankara to boost production of medium- and long-range missiles so no country dares attack Turkey, sparking fears of a regional arms race.

“Unfortunately, the genocide in Gaza and the conflict with Iran are quickly reaching the point of no return. This madness must end as soon as possible,” Erdogan said, warning the consequences could affect the region, Europe and Asia “for many years.”

That is in response to the people in Turkey fearing they are next for Israel and demanding protection.

A war of words has broken out between Israel and Turkey after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened his country could intervene militarily in Israel’s war on Gaza.

Turkish and Israeli officials unleashed barbs at one another on Sunday and Monday after Erdogan said in a speech on Sunday that “there is no reason” that Turkey could not act, noting military interventions made in the past in other countries.

Israel now has to worry if they engage too broadly with Iran , Turkey will intervene inside Israel on behalf of Gaza(allegedly). Although Erdogan gave a speech.. about how the Ottoman empire was about to be reborn

Reports on Thursday confirmed that Turkish Islamist strongman Recep Tayyip Erdogan had organized a constitutional committee, featuring ten lawyers and mostly senior members of his Justice and Development Party (AKP), to replace the nation’s current constitution.

Make Istanbul Constantinople again. The Crusades stopped too soon.

No, Erdogan wants to reestablish the Ottoman Empire and so he is trying to replace Khamenei as the anti-Israel leader.

I expect to see more FR articles excusing and promoting him by the usual suspects.

Russia should have Constantinople and Sea of Marmara area, and Kurds should have a nation-state. Turcs can go back to Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

Turkey is on the edge of social, economic and political collapse. Getting involved in a war with Israel might play well to the base, but the level of additional economic and political destruction would be epic. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, as dictators* think it’s a good idea to focus the masses on some outside threat rather than their incompetence.

* Erdogan was elected, but he’s arresting the opposition, is extremely unpopular and once said, “Democracy is a bus you ride to the destination and then get off.”

You are absolutely correct.

Erdogan is a trivial nothing on the world stage. He can (excuse the term) blather but lacks the resources and ability to actually accomplish anything worth a damn. He holds what amounts to dictatorial power over his nation that is unable to gather the resources to oust him

Given all the apple carts President Trump has upset across the globe, one wonders about the Turkish apple cart.

Russia and China are the main countries currently supplying weapons to Iran. Additionally, North Korea has also been a significant arms supplier to Iran in the past and may still be involved.
