Vice President JD Vance warned Democrat governors that if they allow rioters to “burn great American cities to the ground,” the Trump administration would “send federal law enforcement in to protect the people.”
While speaking from Los Angeles, Vance explained that the “good news” was that the rioting in Los Angeles had “gotten a lot better.” Vance added that he had “heard from everybody” that the soldiers and U.S. Marines who had been deployed to quell the violence of the Los Angeles riots were “still very much a necessary part” of what was happening.
Vance also criticized California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for having “actively encouraged illegal migration,” and accused them of having “strained” law enforcement and public services in the community.
When asked about his reaction to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruling that President Donald Trump was allowed to federalize the California National Guard, Vance explained that the Ninth Circuit basically said that federalizing of the National Guard “was a completely legitimate and proper use of federal law enforcement.”
“The President has a very simple proposal, to everybody and every city, every community, every town — whether big or small, if you enforce your own laws, and if you protect federal law enforcement, we’re not going to send in the National Guard because it’s unnecessary,” Vance explained. “But, if you let violent rioters burn great American cities to the ground, then of course we’re going to send federal law enforcement in to protect the people the president was elected to protect.”

They want to punish their law-abiding citizens.
President Trump will stop them from doing this.
Well done JD.
The Trump set the precedent in LA.
Thanks again Mr. President and your entire administration.🇺🇸👍
They’ve been going to hell without riots.
Well said.
For decades.
It’s one thing to protect Federal officers doing their duty or keeping rioters from attacking Federal offices and Vance would be correct to point that out. It’s quite another to preclude rioters from burning private property or to keep the general peace. What Vance said there is a really bad premise abetting the continuing Federal usurpation of power. In the hands of Democrats, precedents like these WILL be abused.
Where this goes is back to John Roberts in his 2020 failure to address corrupt elections allowing leftist States to steal control of national offices, thus depriving the remaining States of their rights of representation, not to mention the people. Federalism cannot correct crooked ballot counts that protect corrupt local governance from electoral retribution. Else I could say “Let the Democrats burn their cities,” so that the people could see and act upon who and who does not abet that kind of chaos. But without electoral integrity, all bets are off. There is no depth of depravity or illegality these creeps will not go to stay in power to keep the money flowing.
So while I am sympathetic to what JD Vance said here, it is a abetting a Constitutional problem.
Why are you against precluding rioters from burning private property? Your post makes absolutely no sense.
People who are in the process of watching their life’s work get burnt to the ground, watching their families get terrorized or killed don’t care about “… the continuing Federal usurpation of power.”
The want the destruction stopped. Those people already know allowed it to happen, and yes election integrity matters, but when a mob of psychopaths is destroying everything that’s not what is on anyone’s mind. That is for afterwards, when the perps are being shot dead or frog marched to jail.
And as for “…In the hands of Democrats, precedents like these WILL be abused.” That boat has already long left the dock.
Understand your concern, but it’s time the democommunists got a face full of their own medicine… shoved right down their throats.
Who do those city leaders and citizens THINK is going to rebuild their cities??
There is no federal LEOs, only various agencies detailed to specific areas.
So far as I know, contrary to Vance’s statement, “violent rioters [did NOT] burn great American cities to the ground,” I was in Washington, DC when Martin Luther King was assassinated. It WAS very scary as looters ran past my home with boxes of liquor on their heads, stolen from the nearby liquor store. The dry cleaner where I had just left some fine clothes to be cleaned was looted and I lost those clothes. However there was No burning in my immediate neighborhood. I could see the smoke rising from the several streets where stores were looted and burned for quite a number of blocks. However this was hardly the city being “burned to the ground.” There was certainly no objection to having soldiers stationed at our nearby circle to keep things under control because of that looting and burning.
The rioting and burning in Los Angeles some years ago was significant, but again, the city was hardly “burned to the ground.” The rioting in Baltimore a few years ago was certainly nasty and scary, but black residents there played a significant role in keeping things from getting as out of control as they could have gotten.
There are agitators who try to stimulate more severe damage for specific issues, some no doubt stimulated by or actually being the special services Russian agents referred to by “Putin’s Brain” political writer, Alexandr Dugin and his 1997 book Foundations of Geopolitics:

This link has over twenty bullet points listing exactly how Russia should go about ruling Europe and gaining control of the rest of the world. See the last 2 ideas on how to gain control of the Americas—North and South:
“In the Americas, United States, and Canada:
* Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States and Canada to fuel instability and separatism against neoliberal globalist Western hegemony, such as, for instance, provoke “Afro-American racists” to create severe backlash against the rotten political state of affairs in the current present-day system of the United States and Canada. Russia should “introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social, and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics”.[9]
* The Eurasian Project [clarification needed] could be expanded to Central and South America.[9]”
You can see that the above paragraph clearly describes many of the nasty incidents that have occurred in the US in recent years. It was visible that by 2000 Putin had become more aggressive and non-cooperative with the rest of Europe. Locally in DC, around 2015 there had been a local third party politician inspired by a Communist activist to run for office against a more moderate candidate of that party. When the election was over that person disappeared from local activities. Soon thereafter the well publicized difficulties in Ferguson began. I suspect this person had gone there. I am not aware that this person ever returned to activity in DC. DC voters, even when majority black, can see through this far left garbage and are poor soil for Putin’s “special services” activists to grow in.
1967 we [ NSA ] were recording every taxi driver and phone call in DC. Lots of burning across the US during the race riots.
‘Rioters Burn’ Cities to the Ground: The only ones the democrats can get votes from and often.
Federal law enforcement's role should be arresting the city leadership and putting the city under temporary Federal control until clean elections can be held Subsequently, the local police could easily deal with the rioters.
Not like it's going to. Think of MS-13 and TDA fully unleashed on a disarmed populace. That's the revolution of the proletariat of which they've long dreamed. They've imported an army.
This is a difference between what is said and what is done. Vance could have left it at the latter without being more explicit. There is no sense in giving Democrats ammunition.
Understood.
But this population is definitely not disarmed.
So just a handful of LA and other cities were burned and looted😎
I grew up in that City by the Bay. I loved walking those streets. Yet I hate so much what has become of it, I am willing to see massive destruction there as an example of what leftist thinking really accomplishes, but ONLY if we do something about the systemic ballot corruption in vote counting. It is the most serious issue we face. Nothing can be corrected by the people without it.
It is true, there were serious fires in a number of cities in this country after King’s murder, but NO CITIES were burned down. And this death was a major provocation for the very poor people who cared the most or were the angriest about their life condition. There was certainly an angry youth component in the Baltimore riots a few years ago. One black mother was caught on film and praised for tracking down her teen and dragging him home by the ear (figuratively or perhaps literally). There are also some just plain bad people who will take advantage of any situation. A biracial (Jewish father, black mother) I met who was a volunteer at Resurrection City, the camp out on the DC Mall held the summer after the MLK death had a frightening story. He had been grieving the murder of Robert Kennedy all day with friends, but then went to U St. (a mostly Black business street) in DC to eat out. A black man with a pistol came in and made the all black customers lie on the floor while he robbed the place. This volunteer’s despairing question was. “What is the matter with our people?”.
