Deep inside Tehran, as Israeli fighter jets fly overhead dismantling the regime of the Islamic Republic from above, a quiet but determined resistance pulses through private homes, clinic rooms, and encrypted message threads.
One such voice, a Tehran-based medical worker, “M” agreed to speak with The Jerusalem Post under condition of anonymity for his safety. His account offers rare insight into how ordinary Iranians, silenced by oppression for decades, are responding to a war their rulers began but the people never chose.
"The opinion of the Iranian people toward the Islamic Republic has changed for years now,” M stated. “They see the regime as their enemy.”
The current war, sparked by years of Iranian proxy aggression and culminating in Israel’s preemptive strikes against the regime’s leaders and Iranian nuclear facilities, is not unifying Iranians behind their flag, he says. It is doing the opposite. Rather than strengthening solidarity with the Islamic Republic, M says the war has become a symbol of hope.

I agree. A large number of people in Iran want the likes of Khameini gone.
The Iranian citizens seem to view the mullahs the way conservatives in the USA view leftists.
No missiles coming from Syria speaks volumes.
Hopefully the regime ends in such a way that the Persians can build a free and prosperous society and not in any way that results in a wave of refugees coming our way.
Khamenei will never surrender. He will flee the country like Assad. None of these people have any balls except for the Syrian guy who took on Assad.
There is no way to stop the Iranian terrorist groups. Hamas, houthis, and hezbollah are just a couple of groups that are currently infesting the earth. The muslims have been lying and killing for centuries. You might stop them for a short while in Iran, but they’ll be back. You can’t stop a sect of people that are willing to “senselessly” die for their god. And they will look you right in the eye and tell you that. Israel is flexing their muscles for a quick fix, not long term.

The entire worldwide Sunni population dream of the Shia being destroyed….been that way since 600 AD…..
Their desperate. There is a missile attack in Tel Aviv happening now. No impacts yet.
A distinction between Terrorism and State-sponsored Terrorism should be made.
Libya, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran all used to promote State-sponsored Terrorism. At this point, only Iran continues to actively do this. If a new Iranian regime stops funding Terrorist groups, the world will not be perfect, but it will be better.
Great analogy. Israel is split along the same lines as the US - the US tried to get rid of Trump before by the left, and Israel has tried to get rid of Netanyahu by the left. The similarities are interesting. Our fates are truly tied together.
The government of Iran is toast.
Israel is going to exterminate them.
But Israel (with some US help) getting rid of the state-sponsor of these groups will be a huge benefit, for a significant time.
Israel is deliberately not taking out infrastructure. There should be no refugee problem. People will have homes and businesses to go back to.
Iranians, freedom has been placed within your reach, seize it…
What if the thugocracy in Tehran were to come to an abrupt and ignominious end?
Are you saying this would not matter, long term?

While I’m hopeful about the overthrow of the theocracy, I see no signs that it’s near. There have been no demonstrations opposing the Basij, no work stoppages, no defections of the military or clerics, and no calls by journalists for change.
The ayatollahs and the IRG seem to be completely in control, and are just wanting this out.
“Waiting”, not “wanting “.
