Interesting. What’s his play here?

It’s called staying the hell out of evryone else’s wars.
Russia and Iran are allies. Sounds like Putin is warning his ally.
Bye, islamic state!
Hello, new and free Iran!
I don't know about free. At best it'll probably be a case of out of the fire and back into the frying pan.
As other news reports state: Putin called Trump with an offer to help mediate negotiations with Iran. As Russia does much business with Iran, Vlad feels he can have some success, and after Trump’s reply, he correctly informed Iran to ditch the nuclear aspirations….or else…
…the prophecy of Elam ( Jeremiah 49) comes to mind, Iran’s nuclear reactor is located in Bushehr, which is located in Elam.
“Russia and Iran are allies.”
Russia is aligned with the psychopaths currently running Iran. He most certainly is not any ally to the average Iranian.

Hello, new and free Iran!

Jeremiah 49 ?
Iran will be free—no hijabs and the freedom to come to Christ!
“Orange man ain’t playing “.
imho Putin is going to see a correlation of forces.
Its now well know that Chairman Xi is on the outs in China and he will be replaced by a regime that’s cooler to russia.
Iran is being put out of action entirely.
Putin is going to see that his best bet is to negotiate a deal with Ukraine.
Just have a sinking feeling very bad, something none of us can predict, is gonna happen.
Something like a dirty bomb in Tel Aviv. Or an underground test in Iran from an A-bomb they assemble or covertly acquire from Pakistan, China or Russia. A major terror attack here from the 20 million illegals that walked across our border. Something like those two idiot DC snipers that tied up a 4 state area for 6 weeks. Or we decide to have a new war with a country 3.5 times as big as Iraq. Or Israel decides to take out Kharg Island and oil skyrockets to 200 bucks a barrel.
About the only thing that doesn’t look likely is a Pan-islamic alliance all trying Israel at the same time. That because the Saudis, Jordanians, and our ISIS allies in Syria wouldn’t join up. Neither would the Turks. Nobody else has much capability.
Horrible to contemplate. But I just feel like this one is not going to end quick and easy like the usual Iran/Israel exchanges.
It has been a long grind since the 60/70s for the US to establish relations with Arab countries. In 67 they were all Russian allies, from Egypt, Syria, Iraq. Israel and Jordan were sorta American allies. In 79 Iran flipped. In 74 Egypt flipped but it cost the US billions of dollars.
My long time friend was the Defense Attache in Egypt when the MB gunned down Sadat; he was one of the few to survive in the stands that day. Fast forward to the Regional Studies Detachment at Bragg, and he was still testifying to Congress semi-annually on the Blind Shiek and the twin towers in 97-98 when I left.
Psychopaths? We got one in Zelinski. Before you moralizing and accusing other countries of have bad friends, you don’t have to look any further than DC.
I hate Iran, but you taking a cheap shot is just chest thumping BS.
I think his regime is pretty much over. 😉
Does everyone realize Iran’s president was killed in a helicopter crash last year.
They had an immediate election. It is in two parts, which is not unusual. A first part and then a runoff.
There is also a legislature.
There is a religious council that sometimes declares various candidates unqualified from a religious perspective and those candidates essentially are erased from the voting.
But there is voting. The turnout is currently down to about 50%, with US turnout prior to vote-by-mail being 60ish%. The religious council has always had that role so the decline in turnout probably has nothing to do with that (since it was in place with higher turnout).
Regardless, they have elections. There are irregularities just as there are everywhere else — with the US 2020 being the ultimate irregularity.
And so, regime change? Another election. The people selected the current leadership. And would next time, too.
BTW women have the right to vote in Iran.
This.
I find it rich that Putin is telling the big country of Iran to stop bullying the tiny country of Israel or the big country might suffer regime change. Is that a form of irony?
Russia and Israel are both enemies, and sometimes get along. Israel has remained neutral in the Ukraine War.
Sorry, NOT enimies.
“There is a religious council that sometimes declares various candidates unqualified from a religious perspective and those candidates essentially are erased from the voting.”
LOL! The Ayatollah controls EVERYTHING!
