Mexico Immigration Laws Penalties. We are all well aware of the various laws and penalties involving illegally crossing the border from Mexico into the United States; but what are the laws and penalties involved with illegally crossing the border from the United States into Mexico?

Simply put, illegal immigration is a felony under Mexican law. In fact, Article 123 of the General Law of Population mandates that “a penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five hundred thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally.”

Mexican Immigration Enforcement

Other penalties regarding illegal immigration per the General Law of Population are as follows:

*Article 125 – Foreigners who have legal issues involving immigration will be at risk of deportation from Mexico rather than being sentenced to prison.

*Article 126 – Any foreigner who “attempt against national sovereignty or security” will be deported from Mexico.

There are also penalties that will be imposed on Mexican nationals who provide assistance to illegal aliens in terms of illegally entering the country.

These penalties will officially cause them to be considered criminals under the law and are as follows, per the General Law of Population:

*Article 127 – A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the intention of helping them live in the country will face a total of up to five years in prison.

*Article 132 – Fines will be imposed on any and all airline and shipping companies who bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico.

Mexico Immigration Requirements

Aside from the above mentioned penalties, there are also multiple others that apply to other kinds of situations, such as those foreigners who attempt to enter Mexico while possessing fake paperwork:

*Article 116 – Any foreigner in possession of fake immigration paperwork will be at risk of being either fined or imprisoned.

*Article 116 – Any foreigner who signs government documents “with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses” will be at risk of being either fined or imprisoned.

In the event that a foreigner is found to be failing to obey rules imposed by the country:

*Article 117 – Deportation orders that are not obeyed are subject to a foreigner being punished.

*Article 118 – A foreigner who has been deported yet attempts to re-enter the county without prior authorization faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

*Mexico Immigration Laws Penalties. Articles 119, 120, 121 – Any foreigner who is found to be in violation of the terms of their visa can be sentenced to a total of up to six years in prison. Additionally, foreigners who misinterpret the terms of their visa can also be imprisoned as well.

Migrants ‘are not criminals’, says Mexico President after LA immigration raids

As the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out raids in Los Angeles, in which 35 Mexicans were reportedly detained, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said that "Mexicans living in the United States are good men and women, honest people who went to the United States to seek a better life for themselves and to support their families. They are not criminals! (Emphasis added)”

Good post. I posted these several days back in a thread. Mexico doesn’t mess around with invaders like we do. And harboring carries almost the same punishments. She is a Hypocrite with a huge H.

The penalty probably varies with the amount of cash you have or can obtain within a 72 hour window.
Same as with some of the hospitals in Mexico.

Just imagine how much Mexico could have made when all of Central and South America seemed to be crossing their southern border on their way norte. I guess the cartels were paying small amount directly to immigration officials.. or at least not killing them for interfering.

That all looks good on paper, and they aren’t shy about enforcing their laws against Americans. But their southern border? They seem to have been turning a blind eye to the invasion from the south headed our way.

So if the GOP had any sack (I know) they would write a bill exactly mirroring these penalties for entering the US illegally.

And that is a fact! Bet they are now since they can’t just shuttle them through and hand them to us!

..... Heck ..... Why doesn't the US revert back to the pre '96 "8 U.S.C. § 1325" and make Illegal entry a Federal Offense upon the first entry instead of just a Misdemeanor once again?

.

There is currently a Republican president, a Republican Senate, and a Republican House. If there is any real interest in having similar laws in the USA, now would be the time for legislation, not griping.
