BRUSSELS, June 11 (Reuters) - The world experienced its second-warmest May since records began this year, a month in which climate change fuelled a record-breaking heatwave in Greenland, scientists said on Wednesday. Last month was Earth's second-warmest May on record - exceeded only by May 2024 - rounding out the northern hemisphere's second-hottest March-May spring on record, the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) said in a monthly bulletin

Oh my the eggheads in the EU, are squawking.
I had my heat on for most of May and even into the first days of June.

The planet has a fever. And the only thing that will cool it is more cowbell.

I still have to have the heat on in the car after the sun goes down, even after I had the AC running in the car during the daytime. Second-coldest May, I would say; had to wear sweatjackets and even winter coats at work when I worked outside.

May was cool in Torrance CA. Totally normal.
My Facebook friend, who lives in Argentina, had a typically cool May also. Of course, she is heading into winter in her part of the world.
I think it depends on where they are taking their measurements.

...the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) said in a monthly bulletin. The article doesn't mention whose data the C3S uses.
UAH unaltered satellite data says that May 2025 was O.5C above a 47 year average. I doubt that's "second hottest on record".

Scientists will claim anything that pays them in as many dollars or Euros for the least valid science they can churn out. It's a fantastic racket. Science began not being science in the early 70's and as the shift (deliberate) from corporate and private research was hijacked by universities everywhere, the institutions also loaded it up in self interest outcomes of said research.
University researchers are just as bad as the Tobacco Lobby researchers in the 90's.
