Los Angeles, home to one of the largest immigrant populations in the U.S., has been rocked by massive protests following a federal immigration crackdown that saw over 40 arrests last week. Protesters shut down a major freeway and torched self-driving cars as police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.
The anger stems from the city’s deep immigrant roots. With nearly 900,000 undocumented immigrants (as per a 2020 study by University of Southern California Dornsife), many of whom have lived in the U.S. for over a decade, L.A. is uniquely vulnerable to immigration enforcement. About a third of Los Angeles County’s 10 million residents are foreign-born, and nearly one in five live in mixed-status households—where at least one family member is undocumented.

Maybe Mexico could annex LA County…..
Hispanic Americans want illegal out and sent home - just like the rest of Americans.
Greater LA has been the largest Mexican city for decades.
Spanish billboards used to be common.
Not funny.

My Mexican friends from long ago were ambivalent about it.
I worked construction in Denver in the early 2000s …if the Mexicans on the job thought he was illegal…he was gone the next payday….they hated illegals…and the Mexicans were smarter than the whites…..they were getting there kids in apprentice programs it be plumbers, electricians,elevator workers…the whites were spending thousands of dollars to send there kids to college…
Another article today said that CA has SIX more House seats due to illegals being counted in the census.
The obvious solution is to get citizenship status on the census and apportion seats based on USA citizenship.

A business trip to LA basically required a Hispanic interpreter in the 1980’s.
Our now adult sons and grandson speak and read the local Spanish on business at both ends.
The grandson is now the manager of others who don’t speak nor understand Spanish.

True, I work with quite a few Mexican Americans they all hate this rioting and can’t stand our governer Newsome!
Why would you work so hard to escape Mexico, only to be absorbed back into it?

They do. I know several.
Illegal aliens. I am glad the phrase is making a comeback after the left tried to bury it
If these are people who asked for asylum when caught, then they are not undocumented.
If these people were ever put on a bus or a plane to relocate to another city, then they are not undocumented.
If these people were ever housed in taxpayer-funded hotels, or were given EBT cards for food, then they are not undocumented.
If these people have children enrolled in our schools, then they are not undocumented.
