I KEEP GETTING WHAT I VOTED FOR.
In the midst of the positive jobs reports from the last few months, there's one number more important than them all:
Banner Ad Are Americans being hired at lower rates than "migrants"?
Consider the fact that nearly ALL new jobs went to foreigners in 2023 and 2024:
There are 1.2 million fewer Americans in the workforce compared to last year, with ALMOST ALL job growth going to foreigners Yes, almost ALL new jobs. I'm not making that up. NOTTHEBEE.COM https://notthebee.com/article/12-million-fewer-americans-in-workforce-as-all-job-growth-goes-to-foreign-workers Fast forward to today: In perhaps the strongest sign yet that President Donald Trump's efforts to deport illegal immigrants, encourage self-deportation, and clear the workforce of foreign competition is working, the St. Louis Fed reported that more than one million foreign-born workers left the workforce since March.
In March of this year, the foreign-born labor force amounted to 33.719 million people, according to the St. Louis Fed. By May, however, that figure had fallen to 32.706 million, reflecting a drop of 1.013 million foreign-born workers.
The fact that immigrants - legal and illegal - were outstripping the American-born workforce was a major problem.
By contrast, the overall civilian labor force went from 170.653 million in March to 170.216 million in May, for a drop of 0.437 million. The noticeable disparity in exits by place-of-birth appears to reflect more than simple exits from retirement or other conventional factors.
Translation: These aren't retirements. Self-deportations are happening. One million down, millions to go!
Unfortunately, it did not say they left the US. Probably on some kind of assistance now. At least the workers, were working.
So half a million more American workers in the workforce, while 1 million less foreign born workers in the workforce.
We need to charge a few with thousands of dollars for over staying visas - then put leans on their homes … that will force them to sell, and self deport …
and the other 29 million are collecting government benefits :)
Instead of being employed, they could be the ones rioting in the streets of Los Angeles.
Wouldn’t know it. Very few entry level positions around my area.
“other 29 million are collecting government benefits”
That’s a big part of the problem. When your employer hires for a good job they are paying into a 401k and health insurance.
If you’re a “migrant” that’s payed by the taxpayer, making hiring Americans less attractive.
Here, it looks like number of H1B workers has doubled.
Ah.
That explains why Newscum went on-air with an unpressed collar yesterday.

Working under the table is very likely.
What a ridiculous post.
I have an example. In the 1970s, while high school, I worked on the night shift of a huge newspaper press. Each shift had about 50 people. One night INS raided the place and carted away about half the night shift. All of us remaining workers got a 40% pay increase the next day. They didn't want anyone to quit. That taught me everything I needed to know about illegal immigration and wages.
Funny how that happens, isn’t it? You are disposable until suddenly you aren’t.
More facts needed
~ Some illegals work “on the books”. some work “off the books”. There is frequent movement between the two.
~ Many years ago Satyam Consulting of India had many consultants on the same visa. One Indian would have a visa. Satyam would claim that 1 person at State Farm, 1 person at Allstate, 1 person here, 1 person there were all the same person on the same visa. When Satyam went belly up, the others shied away from that..for a while. I suspect they have gone back to the profitable ways.
~ There are many complexities? Are these recent differences in skilled IT? Or Nursing and nurse assistant? Or factory Labor? Or lawn care? or where?
~ Landscapers and construction workers are seasonal. In November and December there historically is an extremely large number heading south across the border....only to return in March & April. If these statistics are pre-March do they just see the seasonal nature of reality?
~ There are probably many other factors. Details, facts needed.
I suggest that no one really knows how many are here illegally and how many come and go. Theya are all guesses, estimates.
I agree. Unless there is a legitimate reason for overstaying, say, a medical emergency, or you overstayed by two days, as an example, because of a flight cancellation, etc.
Sorry you feel that way but I don’t recall asking for your opinion.
Illegals depress wages for the native population..............
