Thursday on CNN’s “The Arena,” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) said that Tesla CEO Elon Musk “suddenly got a big dose of truth serum” while commenting on his disagreement with President Donald Trump.
Host Kasie Hunt said, “What we are seeing play out right now between the President of the United States and the richest man in the world is unlike anything I think we’ve seen in politics.”
Van Hollen said, “You’re absolutely right. It’s as if Elon Musk suddenly got a big dose of truth serum, and he’s letting it all pour out. And it is, I think, going to complicate the way forward for the Republicans in the Senate and the House. It should, because this is a big bill, as the president says, it’s only beautiful if you’re a billionaire for the rest of America. It is a great betrayal.”

He took the Blue Pill Chris.
No that’s ridiculous, if you’re talking about Musk
Two big egos clashing is all it is.
It will end.
Only a moron will gather from this that musk is a dem now.
Oh let me get this straight, the Dems now are the party of fiscal responsibility LOL the same party that can spend 10 TRILLION in five seconds without batting an eye..the same Dem party that sends MILLIONS to Uganda to study how monkeys become transgender
Suddenly the Communist left love’s Musk!☺
Dems are trying to frame this in their image as if Musk agreed with them on the details. Harrumph!
Elon doesn’t want all this deficit spending. He put a lot of time and energy to identify waste fraud and abuse for Nothing! I’d be ticked too
What would Van Hollen know about the truth? It sure never happens in the democrat party.
If Elon thinks that this bill hurts the deficit he should what the democrats would propose. Maybe that judge in’delaware was on to something
So the dems are trying to say they are unhappy Trump wont push for more of Elons identified waste/cut areas?
Interesting because they also dont want the cuts...
And somehow Elons their hero because hes not getting the cuts they hated him suggesting...?
Its just total socialist BS. They think they are being so smart here but they look like absolute donkeys.
A fair observation might be that Musk wants customers from both sides of the aisle so he has to play to Democrats to get them to buy his goods so to speak.
I read an article from a 1970’s radio magazine.
Gary Owens the famous “Laugh-In” TV show announcer had a teacher at the University of South Dakota.
George McGovern wanted Owens endorsement for President in 1972 but Owens declined figuring he would offend Republicans and lose them as fans if he endorsed McGovern.
Musk has to pander to Dems to broaden his customer base.
March 10:
Elon Musk only has months before Trump ‘burns’ him, Anthony Scaramucci says
I wonder if the whole thing was planned WWE-style. Musk needs to sell cars to Democrats, Trump wants to pass his bill (or some variation of it) - both causes were helped today.
Yesterday it was BBB vs no BBB, today the goalposts were moved to BBB vs BBB with more spending cuts. Seems like a win for Trump and a win for Musk. Now you’ll have the TDS gang going along with more spending cuts, which is what Trump and all of us wanted all along.
One thing is clear: Elon Musk’s foray into politics has come dangerously close to crippling one of America’s greatest innovations — Tesla.
Whether Tesla can fully recover from the damage remains uncertain. In the meantime, China is seizing the opportunity, rapidly advancing its own highly competitive electric vehicle industry — a gift handed to them on a silver platter.
It’s deeply disheartening. This internal power struggle between Musk and Trump does nothing but weaken us, while our global rivals grow stronger.
Let’s hope SpaceX remains insulated from the fallout. Its success is not just a matter of business — it’s vital to America’s future.
And what becomes of X (formerly Twitter)? Will it transform into a mouthpiece for a new political movement, as Musk has hinted?
This chaotic, ego-driven feud — broadcast for the world to see — is not bold strategy. It’s reckless, and ultimately, it plays right into the hands of those who wish us harm.
I am wondering similar...
I don’t think it’s reckless, I think it’s fine. Assuming this thing is genuine (I’m not so sure it is!) then let the best ideas win. Trump is dealing with reality, has has to actually pass a bill which means it can’t be perfect. Elon is the idealist and he has a point, we are $37 trillion in debt so now is not the time to compromise. It’s good to have a discussion and debate, Elon and Trump are bringing it to the forefront.
“Elon doesn’t want all this deficit spending.”
Think you are right about that, Elon did not become the richest man on the planet via a committee or something as he was able to make decisions all along. Perhaps a good amount of what is ticking him off was two part: First finding corruption in hundreds of billions dollars annually rubber-stamped, secondly not realizing the GOPe is corrupt to the core and has been for decades, they won’t change much. As a result Musk says to himself he’s just wasting his time and left. Although this is only a reconciliation bill it still raises the national debt by trillions that the GOPe will cheerfully spend.
Does this mean my Tesla Model S is safe from attack by the loonie leftists?
Trump is the one being reckless. Elon Musk identified $2 trillion spenditures that are problematic, and recommended that $200 billion be cut in the budget. But what Trump says is beautiful about the bill results in a mere $9 billion being cut. Musk identified $2 trillion, but Trump and Congress are allowing only $9 billion, a fraction, to be cut, while also adding trillions to the debt load. Musk has a right to be pissed off against Trump and Congress. The public is getting screwed once again. Trump should apologize to Musk and get Congress to make cuts!
Maybe. but now the other half of the country and it’s Trump supporters will slash your tires.
or both will key you, every day
