The recent drone attack on Russian nuclear bombers doesn’t mean much strategically, in military terms.
Bomber aircraft are an early 20th century technology used to deliver and drop bombs on targets, only because the bombs couldn’t get there themselves.
Today, Russia has hypersonic missiles that are entirely self-directed; and they are up to ten times faster than any aircraft that could deliver them. Fighters and bombers are antiquated last-generation relics. They create some symbolic prestige and that’s about all.
Moreover, even if all of Russia’s bombers were disabled, how would that stop them from launching weapons from submarines, ships, or silos? Moreover, aircraft bombers were designed around a “carpet bombing” concept — dropping large batches of conventional explosives and incendiaries, which took hundreds or even thousands of such bombs to destroy major targets. Today, one single Russian hypersonic missile with a medium-grade nuclear warhead, can wipe out Kiev in one minute, and make it, and the surrounding area, unlivable for a century.
Military planners know all this, of course, so what was this drone attack all about? If certain interests want a war, this is one way to possibly provoke one. But this attack alone is not enough to guarantee a response, like Pearl Harbor did. But it is enough to keep dragging out a long battle by aggravating Russia, and create domestic and global political and economic instability, while frustrating diplomacy, trade and deal-making: the things President Trump is especially good at. War is a way for Democrats to keep undermining the President, and in their minds, effectively nullify the election.
The landslide election victory last year was a referendum on peace, prosperity, and especially, economic growth. Other interests however, appear determined to frustrate those goals because peace and prosperity do not deliver the power they want. War does.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
i.e. Bombers today are like battleships in WWII. It’s why Pearl Harbor was a total waste for Japan.
...and make it, and the surrounding area, unlivable for a century.
Celebrating destroying those bombers would be like troglodytes celebrating destroying a buggy whip factory in 1920.
Don't bother the Fake News Media with details! The point is that it was brilliantly planned and executed! Voldemoort Lewinskyy is a military genius the likes of which we haven't seen since Sun Tzu. Or maybe John Kerry.
Meanwhile, the American citizen is handed the bill, and who sacrifice their sons & daughters to fight the war.
While their children are provided leadership miles from the the hostilities are playing out.
The author is a little late. There is already a war, and Putin started it. It would all end if Putin just took his army and went home. Do any of those who keep crying “the globalists want war” really believe that the Ukrainians would continue and attack into Russia? The question itself shows how ridiculous the claim is.
We’re past “wanting war.”
Russia has engaged in its 10 wars since the creation of the Russian Federation. (I’ll combine its two invasions of Ukraine as one.)
1991-1993 Georgian Civil War
1991-1992 South Ossetian War
1992-1993 Abkhazia War
1992 Transnistria War
1992-1997 Tajikistani Civil War
1994-1996 First Chechen War
1999 Dagestan War
1999-2009 Second Chechen War
2008 Russo-Georgian War
2014-present Russo-Ukranian War
I’ll leave out its interventions in Syra and Africa.
Yep
It's not for nothing that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was motivated by Chinese forwarding to Russia false US intelligence reports that the Chinese were being fed from US intelligence sources that Ukrainian admission into NATO was immanent.
Today, one single Russian hypersonic missile with a medium-grade nuclear warhead, can wipe out Kiev in one minute, and make it, and the surrounding area, unlivable for a century.
Ukrainians have all the necessary knowledge to have nukes. They have all the necessary skills to make nukes.
They have three and a half years of intense motivation to get nukes, after all parties failed to follow the Budapest accords, which protected Ukrainian borders *if* they gave up the Soviet nukes they had when the Soviet Union broke up.
The only question is: have they found any way to get sufficient fissionable material to make a nuke?
For the Russians, they have to ponder: Is nuking Kiev worth, potentially, half of Moscow? Is it worth St. Petersburg?
Ukraine has shown how they can infiltrate Russian borders.
Wrong. The war started with an illegal coup we fomented that setoff a civil war in Ukraine that led to the present war.
We then installed a government hostile to both Moscow and the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine, one that endangered Russia's access to its naval base in Crimea. There is no scenario any nation with Russia's military might would tolerate that.
Repeating lies doesn't make them true. You don't seem to grasp that.
Is this mean to be funny?
1. The war is already started. Unless you don’t count little green army men in Crimea as starting a war.
2. If Putin could win this war by sheer escalation he would have done so but how much more can escalate beyond feeding a million of his young men into meat grinder?
3. If aircraft are not important then how is attacking them provocative?
4. Fighting a war is not the same as wanting a war. Putin doesnt want war he wants land, grain, electric, coal, oil, children, warm water ports and war is the means. As you can see if if he can get all that based to him he will stop warring. Who else wanted this war besides Putin? If Puty Pute left today the war would end.
In most cases, if not all cases, Russia has been responding to our or NATO aggression.
It's NATO that has expanded to Russia's border despite the fact we promised the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO in the early'90s.
If Russia were doing in Mexico, what we've done in Ukraine, we'd invade Mexico.
Stop blaming Russia and start working to clean up our dirty foreign policy.
China and Russia have been driven into an alliance. There is an 80% probability that Russia and China have already signed a strategic mutual defense treaty this year.
China has retooled artillery factories and set up factories in Russia to product ammunition, drones, missiles and other dual use techologies.
China has concluded that if they let NATO defeat Russia, that one by one China will be frozen and defeated by NATO as well.
The US had projected a pivot to asia for 10-15 years in the 2023-2024 timeframe. We are behind in the pivot. We are actively repositioning forces with every budget.
China is maintianing their own defense through their defense of Russia, who supplies their oil and natural resources.
Trump’s Big Beautiful Bone Crushing Sanctions being forced by Graham will destroy Trump’s MAGA.
Arresting Graham and Zelinski this Friday would be a nice gift to humanity given their crimes agianst humanity this week.
Which is why you should stop.
The war started with an illegal coup we fomented that setoff a civil war in Ukraine that led to the present war.
You are one act too late. The conflict started when Putin enticed Yanukovych to betray the Ukrainian people that elected him by reneging on the EU economic agreement and seeking to tie Ukraine to Russia via the Eurasian Economic Union. Nor did it lead to a civil war. Russia used local surrogates to seize Ukrainian territory.
We then installed a government hostile to both Moscow and the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine, one that endangered Russia's access to its naval base in Crimea.
The only ones who installed a government was the Ukrainian people through two national elections. Too bad for Russia that they would not elect Russian puppets.
Again with that falsehood. Russia started the chain of events that has led up to this war. Nor is there any credence for the claim that they were responding to NATO aggression. There have never been any NATO troops in Ukraine. Ukraine was barred from joining NATO as long as Russia occupied Ukrainian territory, thus giving them a veto over the issue. Nor was NATO expansion ever given as a reason when Russia first invaded in 2014. Putin also turned down Zelensky's offer of no NATO in return for Russian withdrawal. Furthermore, Putin's extreme demands for peace reveal that Russia driven by more than the fear of NATO expansion, but rather the desire to bring Ukraine back under Russian rule. But you will continue to repeat false claims to justify Russia's actions.
We haven’t invaded our neighbors again and again and again.
If Russia thought that Ukraine joining NATO would be a provocation....GOOD NEWS! Ukraine wasn’t even close to being admitted.
And Russia could have issued an ultimatum before invading.
