Rand Paul: Lindsey Graham wants to ‘secretly explode’ military budget

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is using President Trump’s legislative agenda to “secretly explode” the Pentagon’s budget by adding $150 billion in military spending onto the national debt.

“This bill is going to spend $300 billion in the first two years … $300 billion on military and border,” Paul, a critic of the House-passed version of the GOP mega bill, told Fox Business host Larry Kudlow in an interview on Wednesday.

Paul said the spending cuts in the bill amount to $1.5 trillion over 10 years or about $150 billion per year.

“In the first year or two you will barely offset the new spending. This bill is really a vehicle for Lindsey Graham to secretly explode … the military budget. They want to explode the military budget beyond that cap, that’s really what this bill is about,” Paul argued.

“If the new spending weren’t in there, it truly would be a bill that would be saving money,” he added.

Paul compared lawmakers on Capitol Hill to teenagers maxing out a credit card they got from their parents on “booze and gambling.”

“Congress is worse than a bunch of drunken teenagers,” he said.

Graham is a member in good standing of the swamp. Globalism is the way for those vile inhabitants of the swamp.

Yep, absolutely... And the worst part? They have some idea we are too stupid and ignorant to see what they are up to. From what I have read the last couple weeks they might actually be right about that...

The Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves by The Great Compromise they wrote into the Constitution. Imagine no senate and no 17th Amendment. The USA would be in a better place than it is now.

And Rand believes the only threats we face are from our own government. If we would just spend less on the military, China would be nice to us. There are no external threats to U.S. security in the world view of Rand Paul. That’s his attitude towards pretty much everything. Open borders aren’t really a problem for him. Neither are tariffs from other countries. Only our own tariffs are bad.

He’s not too crazy about the police either, except when he’s being attacked by his neighbors.

Lindsey Graham is what I imagine of a slimy backward thinking South Carolinian hick politician.

The garbage that has come out of that mans mouth is beyond belief.

Trump talks like he's in show business. He ran beauty pageants, casinos, reality TV shows, was even involved in WWF etc.

He talks like a Vegas Showman, and while I agree with him pretty much 100% of the time (the decisions he makes), I realize he tends to be over the top in his language and basically puts on a big show for us.

BUT, Trump knows when to stop the show.

Trump knows when he's playing a serious game and it's time to use measured language, not make agitating or provoking statements, when not to be personal as to blow up bridges you might need to go over later. For example, look at Trump and how he deals with Israel or the Ukraine crisis: very cautiously, deliberate, measured in language and actions. The dude is actually super smart.

People see Trump as a bomb thrower and Graham as the serious politician. Trump is a bomb thrower when talking about his political opponents or Rosie O’Donald (LOL). But he knows when to reign it in, while Graham doesn't. It is Graham, the one that wants to be the serious politician, that shoots his mouth off and says things which are extremely dangerous (could escalate things) and destructive, which can limit your options in the future.

Yep... He is a stooge and salesman for the Military Industrial Complex. And who owns the MIC? BlackRock and Vanguard. BlackRock and Vanguard ARE the NWO Globalists... Right now Larry Fink is the most powerful man in the world and is in complete control of the Globalist agenda. He is literally in control of the whole world through Corporatism, credit, and sheer assets.

Moreover, people assume that giving $1 more to the Pentagon gets you $1 more in defense.

When in fact, the marginal utility of each additional dollar decreases steadily.

We may be at the point where it is negative - spending $1 more means $1 more for fraud, waste and MIC bloated bureaucracy.

If Lindsey Graham is involved, that’s almost certainly the case.
