‘I worry that the disrespect they have been shown will not inspire continued respect for the judiciary, without which we cannot long function.’
The refusal by a majority on the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to shut down leftists’ lower court judicial coup against President Trump has drawn sharp rebukes from conservatives across America. These critics (correctly) argue that the high court’s unwillingness to stop (and at times, its willingness to participate in) this effort both subverts the power of the executive branch and undermines the will of the more than 77 million Americans who voted for the president in the 2024 election.
But it’s not just judicial commentators and everyday citizens who are getting fed up with the justices’ political gamesmanship.
Last week, a three-judge panel on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued an order “expedit[ing] to the next available randomly designated regular oral argument panel” the case known as A.A.R.P. v. Trump. The matter centers around Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang members.
The order came as part of the lower court’s compliance with a May 16 SCOTUS decision, in which a majority (7-2) on SCOTUS remanded the case back to the Fifth Circuit. As described by Fox News, the ruling — in which Associate Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented — “revolved around the alleged illegal immigrants not having enough time to reasonably file a challenge to their deportations.”
While the Fifth Circuit panel’s order followed the Supreme Court’s instructions, it also included a multi-page concurring opinion from Judge James Ho. In addition to arguing that the identified Tren de Aragua members “should not be allowed to proceed in...

Thank you, Judge!
Judiciary will not disparage other judicial members. It is a big club and we do not belong to it.
It is going to lead to a civil war. I am beginning to have absolutely no doubt about it now. These judges must be completely insane not see that thwarting the will of the voters will lead to peace. Nuts!
I’m beginning to wonder whether the Catholic SC’s whose teachers were educated before Vatican II ( Alito, Thomas) differ on that ground from the ones who turn your stomach ( Roberts, Kavanaugh and Coney)? I never looked far enough jnto their backgrounds to do anything but wonder. There is something very troubling about the inconsistency of the younger group.
Trump could consider condemning the building the Justices use for offices, and move them to less accommodating space that’s off the sidewalk.
I must have missed something. Why is the A.A.R.P. involved in this?
Misnamed. The referenced A.A.R.P. is a different acronym. What we generally know as AARP is not involved in this case.
I think the case may have been renamed to “W.M.M., et al. vs Donald J. Trump.”
I read all the documents and still could not find what W.M.M. stands for. Are unnamed defendents allowed to do this without info on who they are?
Wish we all could deliver SCOTUS a slapdown and pie in the face to boot.
6 of the 9 are Supreme Court justices are Catholic.
The plaintiffs are a group of Venezuelan nationals detained under the Alien Enemies Act, and identified as members of Tren de Aragua. The original case was filed as a class action by the ACLU.
Including 5 of the 6 supposedly on our side
.
Face it, until Conservatives hold an over whelming majority it BOTH houses and the White House; we will continue to have Looney Leftist Judges.
Trump needs to make this the theme of the midterm elections.
If the DemonicRats are decimated in the midterms; good judges will once again rule and the recovery will really begin.
