Since the beginning of the Oregon legislative session in January, my wife and I have been having ongoing discussions about whether we should leave Oregon for another state, where the leftists are not in control, or whether we should stay and fight to stop the landslide of insanity that grips Oregon right now and will cross borders to contaminate other red states.
We have many friends here, established doctors and dentists, and a great one-story house between the mountains to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the west. We attend a strong church that teaches out of the Bible. We strongly advocate for people’s rights, good schools, and affordable housing. My wife and I are voting delegates to the Oregon Republican Party, helping to set the direction and policies of the party.
We have lost many friends, conservatives, and patriots who decided to move for a brighter future. What is even more concerning is the number of small farmers who are shutting down their farms. A recent quote put this in perspective. From Senator Daniel Bonham, Minority Leader Oregon State Senate:
Oregon Democrats Are Waging War on Agriculture — Over 2,000 Farms Gone in Just 5 Years. Oregon has lost more than 2,000 farms and 667,000 acres of farmland since 2017, while Democrats keep piling on new regulations and labor mandates. Lawmakers warn it’s not accidental — this is the beginning of the end for agriculture in the state. Meanwhile, the state’s ag agency budget keeps growing as family farms disappear.
We were so happy and elated when Trump won the election, and we expected significant changes in how government treated its citizens. I have to admit I am highly disappointed in how Bondi, Patel, Gabbard, Noem, and Homan seem to ignore Oregon governor Tina Kotek’s sanctuary state claims...

It’s been four months and the Republican Congress is showing itself to again be our enemy.
Give Trump some slack, but always fight for what is right.
Otherwise you are placing yourself - and your family if you have a family with you - at considerable risk.
It is better to get out a year too early than a year too late.
the fight will always be ongoing, but sometimes things need to sink too low for the stupid to realize it. get out.
watch the decline from afar and hope it turns itself around.
then go back. good luck
I think the Dems have perfected the art of the steal and unless the Feds step in to run the elections in Blue States it won’t matter how radical they become. The only thing that matters is who counts the votes.
My advice ( and it’s worth everything you pay for it) is take Kurt Schlicter’s dystopian book series as prescient & move on rather than struggle with the Hydra in OR. You can’t save those who don’t want to be saved from their own bad choices.
Idaho, Wyoming, the Dakotas...
Choose your battles wisely.
The big battle is with 80%+, $3+ trillion unconstitutional portion of the federal gov’t which MUST be dismantled for America to recover her Free Constitutional Republic.
If they can, they should just move to another state that is more in keeping with their values. Again the big battle is with the feds. One can always move between states but there’s only one America.
You have to live your own life. If you have children, you might consider fleeing for their sake. If we all move to Oklahoma or Wyoming, we will cease to be a majority party. Jim Rob is in the belly of the beast, and he does well, and helps conservatism worldwide.
There is no perfect place, and a good church is a good basis to choose your home.
Stay where you are. It doesn’t sound like you’re in any danger that comes from urban jungles.
I guess it depends.
Successful fighting often requires a plan. Especially against organized opposition. And also dedicted like minded people. Maybe if thats not possible where you are, ...
Also picking battles is important. Fighting knowing you’ll lose in a few instances has value, but mostly, no.
Lot wasn’t told to stick around and try to be a martyr for the cause, or to be the voice of opposition against overwhelming odds. He was told to get out and don’t look back.
I left Oregon in 2011 after 7 years and never looked back.
Still have friends living there but “A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do”
“It’s been four months and the Republican Congress is showing itself to again be our enemy.”
You don’t like the BBB?
Biggest mistake I made after losing everything in the Almeda fire was not leaving this state. Now I am too sick and broke after Biden regime started attaching my social security checks to repay emergency funds. It’s terrible watching Oregon go to hell.
Don’t go to a red state unless you are 100% ready to leave all your liberal ideas behind. We already have that coming to Texas. As I recently had a California transplant tell me: “I’m glad Trump was elected. Maybe now we can get the economy fixed. But, all these people carrying guns here make me nervous.”
That is my read as well.
Here in CT urban precincts are where the dirty has been done for decades—and nothing has changed in all that time.
Stealing elections is absolutely legal in CT—as long as the Democrats do it.
All that has kept the Democrats under control is the large numbers of taxpayers who flee the state every year. The Democrats know if they push their insanity too hard the exodus of the folks who work for a living will turn into a full blown stampede.
I look at it a bit differently. If the population decreases in a blue state, they lose electoral votes. If a population increases in a red state, such as Oklahoma, electoral votes are gained. Conservatives need to concentrate their power. Conservative voting power is diluted, and therefore nullified, in a blue state.
Flee, and if you want to fight, move to a battleground state where your vote may make a difference.
