Despite the massive input of cash from Disney, the BBC’s famed Doctor Who sci fi series seems to be struggling in the UK ratings with numbers coming in lower than even the previous low numbers from last season as the show becomes mired in accusations of ultra woke story telling.
The British state-run broadcasting service reports that the sci fi show’s seven-day viewing figures are not auspicious at all for the first half of season 15, the second for the “queer” Doctor portrayed by actor Ncuti Gatwa.
The press has also been a disaster for the show.
Over the past few days, rumors quickly spread that Gatwa was fired in the wake of his decision to pull out of a scheduled opportunity to present the Eurovision scores after a resident of Israel made it into the top tier of the popular talent contest series. According to the Daly Mail, BBC bosses were furious that Gatwa bowed out at the last minute in protest that a Jew was one of the top performers.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Everything Disney touches turns brown.
I’m done movies, since end game. I will never go to their park.
I used to love this series but then decided that it was in part demonic. And then I read that David Tennant was encouraging one of this children to be trans. So I’m done.
It doesn’t seem to be as bad as this article claims.
All BBC offerings are losing ratings. All of TV, period, is losing ratings. I haven’t seen a comparison of Doctor Who’s ratings loss compared to the average. There are usually reasonably good reasons not to do the compare to the average, but regardless of all that, all ratings are falling.
Well, there's no need to imagine anymore, I guess.
My grown kids got into Doctor Who because of David Tennant. They agree that it’s now too woke and should go broke.
That can describe both the BBC and Disney.
And probably quite a few other corporations.
For me, Doctor Who was a good concept, had occasionally very good episodes, but it needed a bigger budget, and better writers. Lots of very cheesy special effects. Got tired of it after two seasons.
As Desperu (youTube video critic) notes, the systemic failure is because Disney keeps putting folks in charge who are purely incapable (not just unwilling, they can’t understand) of sticking to the canon and withstanding putting themselves into every aspect. They are universally narcissistic TWOTs who see only themselves as important and then insert all of their characteristics (usually twisted) into every character and plot element.
So, is the show dripping with politics? That is because the writers/producers/etc obsess about that. Are perverted sexual issues inserted? Guess why. And, they always think this is good ‘cause they consider themselves the best example of everything.
This will not decrease until the staffs are purged. This purging will happen when AI does everything and Hollywood/Disney get rid of 99% of employees. By end of year.
Disney does have the Colon Touch.
Just rename it “Dr They/Them” and be done with it.
The problem is HR. These organizations are taken over by Human Resources - mostly female libtards from Ivy League schools indoctrinated into Marxism.
Once they have a death grip on an organization it’s a steady decline. If the CEO got his/her/they job because of checking boxes (race gender etc.), what is going to change? Nothing.
So we see them double-down on stupid.
The fans which built the brand and gave it value are now ridiculed as “toxic” and the people hired to write and produce the “re-imagined” versions are lunatics who were never fans of the comic book / movie /etc. they’ve been hired to destroy.
It’s insanity.
BBC has public support but Disney should be answering to stockholders.
I gave up on Dr. Who when Jenna Coleman left.
The stock market is acutely sensitive to these sorts of problems. Looking at the chart, I see that DIS is up from 81 in April to 111 today.
If you are investor, you can’t pay any attention to how you feel personally. If it makes money, it’s good.
Vaudeville, at its end, had become nothing but filth in a desperate attempt to attract any audience it could. Television has been following the same cash-grabbing path.
What was the name of that movie series (now owned by Disney) where this Jedi Knight wannabe named Anakin did a gender transition or something where he was then always wearing black masks and being a nasty Sith Lord & in the end he transitions back at the time that his son Luke came to change him back & the incomplete huge Transition Star weapon station (that could transition an entire planet with one pull of the trigger) ended up being destroyed by the Rebel Alliance?
I think I'm seeing one problem right here.
