Summary

WASHINGTON, May 22 (Reuters) - The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed a sweeping tax and spending bill by a single vote which would enact much of President Donald Trump's policy agenda and saddle the country with trillions of dollars more in debt.

The bill would fulfill many of Trump's populist campaign pledges, delivering new tax breaks on tips and car loans and boosting spending on the military and border enforcement. It will add about $3.8 trillion to the federal government's $36.2 trillion in debt over the next decade, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

"This is arguably the most significant piece of Legislation that will ever be signed in the History of our Country!" Trump wrote on social media.

The package passed in a 215-214 vote after a marathon push that kept lawmakers debating the bill through two successive nights.

All of the chamber's Democrats and two Republicans voted against it, while a third Republican voted "present", neither for nor against the bill. Another Republican missed the vote because he was asleep.

With a narrow 220-212 majority, House Speaker Mike Johnson could not afford to lose more than a handful of votes from his side, and he made several last-minute changes to satisfy various Republican factions.

"The House has passed generational, truly nation-shaping legislation," Johnson said.

What Trump has dubbed a "big, beautiful bill" now heads to the Republican-controlled Senate, where it will likely be changed further during weeks of debate.

The 1,100-page bill would extend corporate and individual tax cuts passed in 2017 during Trump's first term in office, cancel many green-energy incentives...

“Whaa we did not get only what we want.” The Always Whining Choir” will be busy again in Conservative Inc now.

All the “Conservatives” whining in hysteria are actively working to maintain the status quo in DC

Rather then EVER do anything to advance their supposed political agenda they sit on the sidelines whining and bitching.

I use to laugh at how dumb Democrat voters were voting for nothing but empty rhetoric elections after election. I realized now a segment of “Conservatives” are just as stupid. The will ignore everything the Do Nothings in Congress do as long as they say the things Conservative Inc wants to hear.

Wow suddenly the Alt Left, after adding more debt then anyone the last 4 years, are worried about debt!

The stench of hypocrisy wafting off the Junk Media today is pretty strong.

You’ll never pass a spending bill that won’t piss off at least 40% of the population.

That’s what you get with big government, but that train left the station a long time ago.

The RINOscum will no doubt be (or already have been) bribed to oppose the bill.

“The Senate will block it.”

Not all of it, but most likely several provisions and timelines.

The inflation adjustment for SALT alone will be attacked by Senators on both sides of the argument, but Blue state Senators will kill the bill over this.

The silencer carve out will be opposed by every Democrat, and more than a couple Republicans.

Defense and border enforcement will also take hits. A large swath of the country is actively opposed to increasing the size of ICE by 11,000 officers, as well as increasing the Border Patrol and Customs by a similar number.

The SNAP reductions are a large killer of Agricultural subsidies, which we all should recognize is a big, big issue for Midwest farm states in particular.

And replaces it with his or her own budget. I would say about ten days at most.

My congressman, Andy Harris was the Present vote.

He leads the House Freedom Caucus and is generally a very good congressman. I regularly joins WCBM radio morning show for an hour or two at a time taking calls. I hope he goes on this week. I think I know his reasons and would like to hear it fleshed out more.

“US House narrowly passes Trump’s sweeping tax-cut bill, sends on to Senate”

“...sends on to Senate”

Where it will die... I lack information to make a positive or negative position on this but it seems a lot of legislation gets killed by the senate.

Found it on his website:

“Regarding where things stand, I think it’s full speed ahead,” Baumgartner said. “Obviously, there’s a lot of sausage being made right now. Still, I am very confident that Republicans will unify and deliver a bill that makes significant investments in the American economy, reduces taxes, helps reduce wasteful spending, and makes America more secure.”

Looks like he’s going to be a good one. Young and good-looking too.

It gets tiring having to read articles from the so called: mainstream medias like, The New York times, La times, Reuters, the Washington Post, etc. It’s all a hit on President Trump no matter anything he does. Here are today headlines.
Trump halts Harvard’s ability to enroll international students.
Trump and Republicans are TARGETING blue states climate policy.
Trump administration seeks to end protections of (migrant) instead of (illegal) children in federal custody.
We need to bust the monopoly of the leftwing wing corporations (six of them control 90% of the news put out) having control over all of our medias. They won’t get unbiased news so they can make up their own minds.
